What do you do other than Pokemon?

I write a lot. I used to have a semi-successful low-time indie rap career but that never really took off. Also wrote and competed in performance poetry, but was never really into it. Still listen to a lot of indie rap, and rap in general, as well as some performance poetry though. Nowadays I write and read a lot of comic books. My career goal is eventually to be a comic book writer, so hopefully that works out. I'm also into a bit of indie rock as well.

I work for two different bookstores under the same roof, essentially. One focuses on used books, old textbooks, things like that. We even have a legit first edition Hobbit for a few thousand, if anyone is interested. The other store focuses on radical, counter culture zines and books. Books about weapons, guns, activism, riots, drugs, survivalism, stuff like that. It's probably the best job I've ever had as my boss is cool as, and it's a super laid back work environment.

I'm also really interested in social media and using the internet to connect with people and network. I'm always interested in what new social networking sites are popping up and how the internet and technology in general is advancing. I love to talk about the future of technology to no end.

Other than that, I'm into some video games, movies a ton, the aforementioned music, and I follow mixed martial arts religiously, and want to practice some BJJ when I get the extra time and all.
 
Future technology, much like kwisdumb said. I love SSB. all three games, lift every other day, and soon to be play halo reach religiously. I enjoy learning about the world religions and philosophy. Going to pick up the Koran and Confucius today :)
 
I play the Drums, go to school, play video games, teach and swim. And I bowl. Even though I suck at it.
 
Work, play Nazi Zombies, shop around for Evo IX's, hang with the Mrs., chill with friends. I hardly play Pokemon much anymore haha.
 
I play yugioh, magic, I'm on the net all the time checking on stuff, I go to movies, hang out with my friends, and girls. :lol:
 
Besides playing Pokemon, I am into regular card games to a significant degree: my favorites are contract bridge, spades, and hearts. I got into the formermost in my 8th grade year and once I moved to Evanston, joined a duplicate bridge club and find the experience very rewarding.

I am an avid cyclist as well, not for competition or fitness, but for commuting and joy-riding.

Additionally, I am a super-fan of college athletics, particularly those of Nebraska and Northwestern (my alma mater and current school, respectively). And not just football and men's basketball, but soccer, baseball/softball, volleyball, and even niche sports like lacrosse and fencing!

But, all of these are secondary activities to my work as a graduate student!
 
Holy Cow. You should've named this thread: How many of us can gather together and hold a conversation that makes RA feel officially old. :cool:

ALL of those things guys mentioned are pastimes of mine. I used to LIVE AND DIE for pickup Football and Basketball. I remember blowing off a shift of work (when I was in early 20s) because I had a solid 5 on a pickup court and didn't want to give up my spot :/

How INDIE are you talking about here? Like above ground 'mixtape' releases (ala Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Hot97 freestyles).

or... REALLY underground stuff that will NEVER see the light of day like...

Peanut Butter Wolf, ToneDef, Royce da 5'9, Atmosphere, Pedi Crack, Slaughterhouse ??

or... Dirty South stuff... (ala LiL ____ fill in the blank _____ )

I was once deep into that scene. I engineered audio and/or did cover desing for names you may know :cool:

I used to be SO into Spades and Hearts. There used to be a webiste called "PlaySite" where you could play those games and try to advance up a ladder. Getting to "RED" must've been responsible for me losing AT LEAST 700 hours of my life... LOLz!

WELL ...

WHEN I"M NOT PLAYING POKEMON ... uh....

well... Pokemon is my ESCAPE.

Regular life is...

1. PTO President (for daughter's school)
2. Council of Review (for Professional Teacher's Organization)
3. Town Councilman (1st Black Councilman in the History of my town)
4. Town Commissioner
5. Public School Teacher (this is year 17)
6. Family is in the mix here somewhere... lol
7. Pokemon tournament judge
8. PokeGym Mod

So... I toss on headphones, turn on REDSHARK and just escape whenever I can.
 
I follow sports alot, especially football ( the proper kind :tongue: ) following the English Premier League alot.

Lots of extra exams to try to get into the LSE.

I waste alot of time watching alot of American sitcoms, Friends, Scrubs, My name is Earl etc.

Lots of video games, anything from Mario or Zelda to Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa.

Any business oppotunities I see to make any extra cash.
 
VIDEO GAMES!!! they are my non-pokemon LIFE!!! Modern Warfare 2 mostly besides halo 3!

I like all kinds of stuff, don't really consider Drake indie, but I'm a fan.

But yeah, Atmos, Sage Francis, Royce, Buck 65, Brother Ali, all that stuff is what I consider indie, huge fan.

And that's awesome about working with them. Who did you do stuff for? My only claim to fame is that I once played a show with mc chris (the guy from aqua teen), for 400 or so people, that was super fun.
 
Does anybody in here play the new Halo Reach? You can find me on that when Im not at work or putting together crappy decks.
