Actually Magic's Power Nine only refers to cards from Magic's earliest printing (err... the equivilant of Base-Fossil in Pokemon). And concerning value, Magic's Power Nine are valueable because they're extremely useful and broken in Magic (and people like using useful cards).
No new Magic cards would be part of the Power Nine because they're... well... too new. Which is why cards lke Tolerian Academy and Memory Jar aren't part of those Power Nines. Which also means cards like Sneasel, Slowking, or Mewtwo ex wouldn't be elegible for Pokemon's Power Nine.
Rarity also plays a part in what makes a Magic Power Nine, for as far as I'm aware, Magic's Power Nine are Rares. Likewise, cards like Plus Power and Town Volunteers wouldn't make the list because they're not rares.
Therefore, following the rules of oldness, rarity, and game play value (collector's value is based on demand, and useful cards are in demand more than unuseful cards)... Pokemon's Power Nine would be:
Computer Search
Hitmonchan
Electabuzz
Blastoise
Super Energy Removal
Lass
Scyther
Item Finder
Wigglytuff
Well... that's what I would pick at least.
