What new anime are YOU watching as of this month?

Yeah, is anyone thinking MAR is going to be a kind of Tales of Symphonia anime? I mean the dude's got a Kendama as a weapon, and a talking one at that. I can't wait to see who this character is that looks like Ginta's crush in real life and the personality differences.

I actually just got around to watching Mai HiME this week. Loved the first few eps(way better plot than that Fullmetal Alchemist crap)

The anime that I've been watching lately is Trigun. I know it's pretty old, but it's still really good. lol.

I watched the first couple episodes of Mai HiME, didn't really like it. I finished watching the first season of Naruto yesterday.

Like I said, the only new thing I found interesting this season is Tsubasa. It's a little wierd now, not grabbing so much. Last season I was watching Bleach, Air, Ah My Goddess, Negima, and Xenosaga, now I'm down to just Bleach, Negima, and Tsubasa (since I still can't remember Ah My Goddess). I guess I'll be watching older stuff for the rest, until the next season to see if we get anything new interesting there. Got a long way to catch up before I'm up to watching Naruto just weekly (what episode are they up to now?)

I love what they've been doing with Bleach so far this season. Changing the ending animation each time is really awesome.

(careful, people, namely the last few posts, don't want this to turn into a poll-type and be closed)

Naruto 132 was just released to answer your question. ;p Also, the 3rd OST is out! :O! I've only gotten the first few songs, their (NarutoFan) sever keeps getting overloaded by requests for the new OST. ;_;

Also for those interested:

MAR 03 has been released by Nyu. A temp fix until we see the Frothbite version. (4th episode has been released as a RAW, Tuesday I think) Nyu isn't too bad though, they used to sub Viewtiful Joe until is was liscenced. To bad they didn't do karaoke. =/

Basilisk 02 has been released by Inuyasha 4ever and Katana fansubs.

Bleach 29 was also released earlier today by Lunar. (I think Chihiro too, but that one doesn't show up on 'Suki)

I expect Erementar Gerad 04 to be released soon as well.

As for where is MAR is heading as a series, I don't really get the ToS vibe from it. He was invited there, so that should be a major plot point, we'll just have to wait and find out.

I'm also loving the changing ED animation of Bleach, I wonder how long they'll keep it up. I'm also really enjoying the current story arch.

As for My/Mai HiME, I watched it through, it was a pretty good series. There were a few things I didn't like about it, pointless fan service and what not but overall it was pretty cool. By the way, be prepared for suprises.

[EDIT] Oh yeah, by the way, C1 dropped Eyeshield 21! (As well as Buzzer Beater, but I didn't really care for that one) I guess Saizen is alright though. =/ [/EDIT]

[EDIT 2] One more thing, I know how you people love your Gundam Seed (Gundam Seed Destiny will replace Gundam Seed in August I believe), Rave Master, .hack//, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. but they aren't really new. Thats really not what this thread is for. o_o This thread is for anime released within the past few months (mostly this month) and still ongoing (in Japan, like Naruto and Bleach) to this point. [/EDIT 2]

Anime-Kraze is also doing Basilisk, and MAR too, but their torrent tracker is still going crazy.

I'll have to tell everyone about SEED Destiny, I'm curious to find out who plays Shinn, and most importantly, Gilbert Dullindal. Oh if only they could put in my fanfiction character Adam into it, then it wouldn't be as completely angsty. Gundams need more comedy.

LOL it's pretty convenient that they mentioned in yesterday's episode that there are 13 squads (which I don't think they really mentioned yet), so far each ending lasted for 13 episodes before changing (standard trend), so we'll have endings for all 13 groups and then they'll change. Like the ending "Thank You!" appeared with episode 14 (which I was glad for, hated the first ending >_< )

Just finished watching 25 episodes of Martian Successor Nadesico. It's a "Big-Ship-with-Big-Crew/Cast" format. And like always, big ships has to come with support mechs. It pays homage to itself while at the same time it also lightheartedly makes fun of itself in a way. There is an anime in the anime. It keeps you interested enough to follow the whole thing but there are also the anime-series-trademark-stray-from-the-story episodes. The follow-up movie(Prince of Darkness) is obviously more entertaining if you watched the whole series.

I got the Nadesico DVD box set and movie two years ago for Christmas ('03). Months before that I borrowed my friend's VHS version (which is why I asked for it for Christmas...'sides he was missing a tape near the end). So, while it is an 1337 series that I love and not only parodies the mech genre well; but, in my opinion, is also one of the greats of the mech genre; it is not new at all.

Changing subject, the Naruto movie RAW was released yesterday by Saiyaman, with an improved audio version released today. I've already watched it, it was my first time to watch something unsubtitled. I laughed, I cried, I had NO idea what they were saying! XD I caught some phrases here and am proud of myself for that. It was, however, an awesome movie, and I'm looking foward to the subtitled version because I know it'll be alot more awesome when I understand it all. :D

Also for those interested the following were released recently:

Erementar Gerad 04 by EVAL POWAR FASUBS

The Law of Ueki 04 by SG Anime (Until the Shisen-Animeseal version is released...)

Mar 03 by Frothbite-AniKraze

Futakoi Alternative 03 by AnimeYuki

Eureka Seven 02 by Nanashi

Naruto Movie has just been speed-subbed by Dattebayo. My guess is AonE and Ani-Kraze are going to take it for the more detailed subbing. Just a heads up. I loved it.

Actually the first of the two versions of the Naruto movie was on Saiyaman since late Wednesday. Haven't bothered getting it, though. Still very early into the series (up to 32 now)

Saiyaman and l33t-raws were pretty late getting Tsubasa up (only within the last hour or so have they gotten it up, usually it's there when I check in the morning), so the first speedsubbers probably won't get around to finishing until late Sunday or on Monday :( I've been watching DB_L-E's version, anyone watching different?

Also I picked up volume 5 of the Tsubasa manga today, found something interesting about Syaoran. Now I'm itching to know if the CCS Syaoran has the same condition (maybe, maybe not, but still interesting)

I've been watching the same. DB has consistently impressed me with their quality speed subbing so I figure I can't go wrong. I always tend to lean towards subbing groups I'm most familiar with.

Not new. =/ And, actually, there are 4 movies. I don't beleive it has been released on DVD yet (I assume it was a theatrical release...), I may be mistaken, but I am quite sure it hasn't been subbed yet.

I know most, if not all is not new. I've not heard of Angelic Layer or Pure Blue so that leads me to believe neither or relatively new, since I mostly watch the newer stuff.

C'mon people, is it so much to ask to keep this discussion about somewhat NEW anime? ._. And if you can't say more that "I'm watching blah blah blah" or "such-and-such is really neat" please don't post. It doesn't add to the discussion, and if you feel the need to, for whatever reason you may have, post off topic then atleast make the post count and give your feelings and impressions of the not so new series in question.

Angelic Layer is not new. Storyline-wise, it is a semi-prequel to Chobits. Pure Blue I've never even heard of.

I hadn't actually seen anything from DB before, I was getting them because they're the first ones to get each new episode done. I'm quite impressed with that speedsubbing group. Some speedsubbers I haven't been so impressed with (Chihiro for example, when they first started doing Bleach a few weeks when Lunar was way late. first one posted was horibble video quality, and poor script. they've gotten better tho so that's okay)

I wish some speedsubbers would pick up Negima, the group that's doing it isn't speedsubbers and are now two episodes behind :/

As far as new stuff over here, Scrapped Princess (from early 2004) has begun selling here in the US. That's a good series, anyone else watched that?

So if you've watched the Naruto movie, Chris, what's this I hear about a weasel with the Sharingan? o_O (comment someone made from the movie poster) I may get that tonight (after getting the new episode of Bleach, if it's there when i get home from work)

When I saw it fansubbed, Scrapped Princess was awesome, but I didn't get to see all of it, so I really want that series. Dattebayo is the best speedsub group that I know, even though they mainly only do Naruto (in 4 different languages I might add) they're starting up with others like Tsubasa Chronicle. They also get the lyrical translation correct.

You want a BAD speedsubber, go with AniRupt/Anime Chuunin. They've been embarrasingly beed doing Gundam Seed Destiny the entire time, and they can't get ANYTHING right. You'd think they'd figure out that there's no such thing as "bokutachi ha" in the theme song. There is no "ha" in japanese music, it's "wa" and yet they don't notice it. Not only that, but they have source material from the original Gundam Seed, so the names should be correct, and yet, they're misspelled up and down.

Anyway, in response about the Inuyasha Movies: #'s 1 and 2 are out in the US, #3 is coming to the US within a month, even though they got the title mistranslated, and #4 is coming out on DVD in Japan soon.

Also, Bandai and Namco are merging, so be on the lookout for some interesting anime-based games soon.

Chihiro was awful. o_o I got their subs to tide me over until Lunar released theirs and then deleted it. Whats funny is that Lunar sometimes beat Chihiro with their releases. XD

Well, hopefully, after the staff of Anime Council gets done with exams and finals they'll play catch up and release a whole bunch at once... >.>; *wishful thinking*

I'm afraid the only Sharingans I saw belonged to a certain Hatake Kakashi fellow and that Uchiha Sasuke dude. o_o Though, perhaps at the right angle Kakashi could look weasel-ish? o_0 I don't know if I ever saw the movie poster.

Well Lunar had been doing good for a while since the series first started, the RAW would come out on Tuesday and they'd have their sub out on Wednesday. Chihiro started doing it after one week or so when Lunar didn't come out with anything two weeks in a row (episodes 10 and 11 IIRC), but didn't list on AnimeSuki until about episode 18 or something like that.

I was lucky, I was able to get all of Scrapped Princess about a day before the torrents vanished forever. I think I just deleted them though when I finished watching them, rather than burning them off before deleting.

Uhh... that's actually the way it would be written, as "bokutachi ha". When used as a particle as it is (subject marker), "ha" is pronounced as "wa".

Also, Bandai and Namco are merging, so be on the lookout for some interesting anime-based games soon.

That's cool.

Well I found from someone that the Elfen Lied special's been released, so I'll be getting that first. So probably won't get around to the Naruto moive tonight.

Thats the movie poster for the second movie: Naruto's Big Clash in the Theatre! The Illusion of the Ruins of the Depths of the Earth, Dattebayo! or so AniDB translated it...lotsa "of the"'s. XD I think it'll be out in theaters in Japan in August(?). Looks to be a knights vs ninja thing going on in the movie. Should be pretty cool. From the poster it seems Gaara makes an appearance...thats always a cool thing.
