Jimmy,

Thanks to your help, guidance and encouragement, our entire family got into the game. My first match ever was against you in the shop. I vaguely knew your reputation at the time and remember thinking how cool it was that this guy took the time to teach me the ropes. I learned more in that one game than anywhere else; ever.

Just wanted to say thanks to the retiring card player.

Glenn

It's really sad to see you go. You really helped me to be a better player, and see what competitive playing is like.

Good luck with your future! Perhaps one day, you'll be able to play again.

I never knew you, but "farewell" nonetheless. May you have zero complications arise in your future PTO'ing. :)

PS. Your last name is awesome.

Jimmy, We met you back at our first city ever.... James was a riot(definately not shy) and instantly took Drew under his wing and you... well like a bull in a china shop but in a good way LOL. You,Ness and Chuck battling it out at Worlds and then having you all top cut at the following citiy opener with little old me is one of my favorite pokemon memories... I always like to make a weekend trip to shytown for cities...so I'll see you there...

I'll always say that I learned more from your WARS with Jason, Alex, and Rob than I ever learned playing this game myself. And, yes, I refer to them as that, because those were single games that could last hours on end (and might possibly be part of the reason for time limits today).

Good luck with your tourneys!

Jimmy,

I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to get to know you and to be able to call you friend. Of all the people I have met over the years playing the game we love, I know few that show up with the intensity and desire you do.

The amazing ideas, the strategies, the passion for the game. You are incredible.

Hopefully down the road, we will be able to work side by side, instead of being pitted acrossed the table from each other.

Good luck with your store. I am sure it will be as big of a success for you and your family as your time playing the game has been.

Oh, and one other thing, I dont think that this will be a goodbye from the game. Knowing you as I do, I think that the desire to succeed again will eventually draw you back into compeditive play. I hope I am right. I would love to see you in the trenches again.

See you in a labcoat soon!:thumb:

Thanks you for making a great friend of mine being a terrible player...NAH NAH IM KIDDING. It was great to meet you once or something and It's sad that you have to leave the player side or something ;P

It's sad to see a lot of great players leaving te game. Hopefully it will still stay fun.

stepping back from playing is what Jimmy said. He now runs a shop and is switching roles from consumer to provider. Likely his involvement will increase, you'll just see him moving around the tables at events and not sitting so much.

You are right, but i didn't see Pokemon mentioned anywhere. SO he might as well support some other TCGs like Magic, but i doubt he won't run pokemon....so he won't be leaving the game totally, just stop playing pokemon.

Yea okay I'll see you at Nationals.

On a serious note, let me thank you Jimmy for being such a great guy. You're always so down to earth when it comes to Pokemon and life and though I didn't ever have the real need to, you always gave off this aura toward me that I could ask you anything and everything about..anything. Your advice was always super, and I know you say I always have good advice-but you are the man, seriously. As you know, my dad passed away a few years back, and Jim you were one of the people I always felt I could I turn to as a man role model. Honestly Jim, I love you man.

And with that, I will see you at Nationals :p I'm gonna visit Chicago one of these days and come hang out with you and Paris toooooooo. <3

10/10 post Jimmy :)

Gonna miss seeing you playing at the tournament tables. Sucks I didn't get to playtest with you more despite living so close =/ I credit much of my growth in this game at least indirectly from you, since BigginZZZ's success seems to be from association with you and he introduced me to competitive play. Understandably life has higher priorities than Pokemon, but it's still a shame to see ya go. I'll really be upset if you gotta stop PTO'n though... but even if ya do I'll still see ya at a couple of your BR's this year :)

Totally agree with your point about this game offering more than physical prizes. Anyone who has their eyes fixed on only the trophies is really missing out. I've made so many friends thanks to the TCG that I wouldn't have met otherwise.

Jimmy,

Sad to see you leave the game, but wishing you all the greatest success with your store. If I ever get to the city, I'll definitely stop in (probably on a regular basis.) Claydol EX 4ever! BELIEVE THE HYPE

tho I'm rather new to competitive style playing (I played back when WotC printed/distrubed, but just locally) and I don't know you whatsoever, I feel it's needed to say farwell to you and best of luck to whatever you do in life. I hope that you get a chance to play again someday, even if its just for a few BR's or Cities.

Jimmy:
We sat next to each other at the first round of the Prof. Cup. Good luck with your business venture, and I hope you're able to make it valuable for you and your customers!
