What will Win State?

After I posted I noticed PRIME edited it.

Yes those look like the top contenders, I am going rogue, its cheaper.

Not only cheaper, but WAY cooler too! =D

It's already been stated countless times what's going to win: Gallade, Fire TRUK. Those are the big two contenders. Togekiss I'm sure will see play, as it can go with MANY different things. Bliss may get lucky depending on the Metagames in certain areas, but the Bliss player has to be a good one. As for Absol Variants, I don't see such things doing too well with Claydol about, as Claydol can dampen the whole strategy of destroying a hand, and it's not only easy to fit into decks, but it's especially easy to pull out.

Aside from those decks above, be on the look out for Heavy Metal influenced decks.

^Bingo. If you add in one lightning (adding more just makes me laugh at you, and adding multi makes me fall on the floor laughing), thats 5 cards you need. 5. LOL.

your talking out your ring peice here, wailord is, we discovered, was a peice of **** (excuse my language). it could do nothing, and if it sees play, i can see a snipe/cessation/er2/crystal beach deck coming into play.

Yeah, Wailord by itself doesn't work. It needs an energy accelerator, I use Swampert and Swampert ex with Delcatty in my test list. ER2 a deck with Swampert ex in it, see me burst out laughing. Crystal Beach does nothing, Cessasion is a problem for all power decks, but since I am using Wailord, my deck already has 4 Warp Point. Sniping makes me lol, because there isn't a pokemon who can snipe effectively AND take this deck down, so as soon as you find one, feel free to let us know :thumb:.

I remember last year, when everyone tried to counter Metanite at States. It worked to an extent, but as far as I know Metanite still took a few States. I desperately hope for two things this season.

1. Someone breaks the format and gives diversity, good for you. ^^
2. This diversity has its limits, and the decks that are cassified as "autowin vs Gallevoir" are exposed as mere archetypes that have decent chance.

But also in States,R-Gon made a showing by Kyle S,won 4 in a row and Flygon δ Ex became popular and changed the format. So something is gonna change it,it just depends on what it is.

There are some really strong cards in Great Encounters, to sad that most of them are weak to the dominating Meta decks.

Let's see...

Porygon-Z
--> I already tested that decks, and with the right trainer engine, it runs really great - except for the big problem that the attack depends on luck, but you can still assert (87,5%) that it will do at least 80 dmg with Power and Lake Boundary. But a pure Porygon-Z deck has a VERY bad matchup to Gardy/Gallade, even with Crystal Beach and luck its hard to win, not only because of Porygon-Z's fighting weakness, but also because Gardy blocks the power you need to attack while it can use all of your rapidly discarded supporters.

Sceptile
--> There are several nice decks you can build up with this card, all of them lose to Magmortar most of the times. Typical grass Pokémon have fire weakness, and there is Dragonite ex which does 40 damage per Deafen lock, Magmortar heals 20 per turn and is able to snipe Sceptile, making it difficult to rely on Dragon Roar.

Blaziken
--> yeah I think this card could make some States. Although it's still overshadowed by Magmortar, it has some nice adventages.

Darkrai Lv.X
--> Really strong card, but goes down too fast. Most players will tech against status conditions because of this Pokémon, and there are a lot of ways to do (Unown G, Holon NRGs, Switch/Warp Point etc.).

Togekiss
--> This is absolutely overrated. I didn't play often enought to give proper statistics, but I played a deck with 17 basic energy and still got only 2-3 on average. The power is great, but once it's on the bench, it can only be used to buy time because of its crap attack.

So personally I think PUI didn't very well at their choice for GE cards, and I'm afraid the current meta decks will still go on domination the tournaments.
--> Porygon-Z is a strong card and will be played a lot, this will help G&G (which completely owns it) to keep its position.
--> Sceptile also is a strong card and will be played even more, this will help Magmortar (which completely owns any variations) to keep its position.
--> Darkrai Lv.X will make Blissey even more dangerous to hold its position in the GE metagame.

It would be that easy for the PUI to break these terrible metagame chains, but it seems that they have failed. Glaceon Lv.X would do extremely well against both G&G and Magmortar, Kabutops w/ Fossils is very strong and has no death matchups to those metagame decks (if they don't run LatiLock).

My Empoleon deck just took out my G&G (which I have been working on for a month and a half). My Empoleon list is pretty consistant so I think I'll play it at States, I've also seen a couple other people do well with it at CC so it might do well :)

We won't have a balanced metagame, not if you have anything to say about it.

As balanced as Rosie O'Donald on a rowboat

red face paint decks? Not if he has anything to say about it. You'll all play the same deck, and like it.

I smell a cookie cutter

So crack open a Budlight Kidnapper of Cards, maybe you will give us our cards next time, but you probably want to see us squirm a little more.

^what the Super Bowl commercials were missing.

LOL.

Looking at all the semi-playable cards, it really makes you want to look at the older sets for more inspiration for new decks. I'm sure somebody will come up with something to beat these 2 decks...it's not really that hard.
