hm... some guy said it was top 20 last year.

Depends on your age group. Most of the grinder invites get given to the 10-s and 11-14s, but each age group has a guarantee that the top 8 will qualify for worlds. Depends on the numbers on the day, tho.

This is the Official news pop gave out at wolrds 2005 for worlds 2006

The 2006 wolrd championships this year will be held on august 18-20th at the aneheim hilton resort

This hotel is amazing because its walking distance from anything and even if you want to go downtown you can go to see the sights or catch a angela ballgame. See disneyland resort only a block away.

This location was chosen due to its close location to anything plus being close to californias happiest place on earth.

I know whoever wins thuier way there wont be disspaointed and whoever goes will enjoy it and alstly wait a month or 2 and call hilton. They probabily have a few rooms discounted for all who come to worlds 2006.

hm...do i gotta pay for a room? it takes like half an hour to get there from my house.
do losers get constelation prizes? (eh, not losers, the guys on the bottom. ie me)

Even the travel awards don't cover $200 a night...
erm... if you win a travel award, POP pays for whatever the room costs, no matter how much it is

 really!??!?!?!? but only if you got it from nationals or get an invite?
As far as I know, all the invitations to Worlds given out in the US come with travel and room. There are some travel allowances to Nationals given out at States that are just $300 toward your travel, but all the awards to Worlds are the full meal deal.

wow...pokemon takes really good care of their players...but if you got to worlds in the grinder, you don't get a room or other stuff right?

yeah, i don't need a room, i just go home and come back...unless they start at like eight...but i want free stuff too.

as long as its not just first place, i'm happy...but i think gym challenge must get first...and nationals is top 4 i think? i dunno if there are any other qualifiers...even though there should be more...

thats kindof a bummer...but at least you get in
only if u get top 8. u dont automatically get it.
ya, last year they gave out trips to worlds if u got 1st at a gym challenge, 1st or 2nd at a regional or if u got top 4?? at nationals. of course practically everyone in the top w/e at nationals had a trip already since it was after the gym challenges, so the trips got bumped down a loong ways.
This year they're not giving out trips at regionals this year though, so we don't really know if they're just not giving out as many trips, or how they're gonna handle that.

Although there has not been an official announcement, it appears that your only chances of qualifying this year will be at Gym Challenges and Nationals.

I wouldn't count on the Grinder. Attend if you can, and if you can't win an invite any other way, but don't count on a large number of people getting in throught the Grinder.
