Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why Kingdra

Leafeon beats it. Anything that can win in the first 2 turns. Anything that can ruin the set up and then hit hard. Anything that can kill claydols. I have done testing with it since the BRs and I know my list inside and out. I know it's weaknesses and strengths. I admit I do play kingdra differently with a more consistent list but I'm pretty sure it is played somewhat similar to the way other people play it. I don't see why it would have different matchups.

^^ LOL

Seriously, that is not how Kingdra works. This is from my testing:

T1 Kingdra: 15% of the time
T1 Kingdra+Claydol: 2% of the time
T2 Kingdra: 75% of the time
T2 Kingdra+Claydol: 30% of the time
T3 Kingdra: 98% of the time
T3 Kingdra+Claydol: 95% of the time

Ergo, come T3 I'm fully powered up and ready to go, ready to power up additional Kingdras as I progress to beat the living daylights out of your Pokeys. I don't need to be set up by T1 to maul you.
And unless the opponet likes to twiddle their thumbs, they have thier guys up t3. And try to tell me kingdra can win a one-on-one fight with anything. Go ahead. lol. As for the magnezone, it beats kingdra for another reason entirely: Metal. Damage reduction absolutely kills kingdra.

Trust me guys, for those who say the Kingdra is unstoppable, Kingdra has hard matchups/beat by a good amount of things

TurnCruel can give Kingdra hard times by taking energy out of the discard pile and then spreading
Leafeon not only has resistance but can Leaf Guard and energy accelerate to just get even better
MagneVire once set up and getting a cycle going gives Kingdra quite a hard time.
Mr. Mime makes Kingdra a very sad panda by making your Kingdra attach and additional 2 energy before hitting Mr. Mime with damage.

and IMO, that can just be the tip of the iceberg

So as you can see, Kingdra is good, but it's hardly unstoppable, not like GG in anyway
