Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why Pachirisu and Phione are Good but Overated (a Team Space-Time production)

Ok, Pachi works in most decks cept for Eevee, GG, and some others, and Phione works well in these decks. While they do have massive amounts of hype, they are pretty amazing starters.

Instead of wasting time bashing the card, why not actually figure out where it fits in the decks you're building?

Umm, every deck's first goal is getting thier pokemon out. How do you do this? Getting basics and evolving them. What do pachi and phione do? Get basics and evolve. Sure, you lose two energy drops, but if the opponet can't evolve or get a bench and only can get 1 hitter, they will lose the game 9/10. Espically since you should have 2 pokemon to sacrifice while you get back those nessicary energy drops.

no it isnt. when i played bannette, my first goal was to kill the opponts pokemon by turn 2.

this article: you named it why pachirisuand phione are overated (and added good but later i see, people giving you too many reasons?). but all through all i ever really saw was "pachirisu is an awsome card," "phione is a great card." for gods sake man, you either think they're overratted or you think they're good. make your damn mind up!!!

I say they're good, not godly and supreme.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

And besides, it's good to look at the positives and the negatives of something, instead of one.

Agreed, and while I like them, I won't say they're the best starters ever. They give decks needed speed and provide good backup, but they're not godly. Pachi gives a free prize out late game and once basics are on the bench, they're snipe material if you don't topdeck Celio's/the evolutions. The problem with Phione is the opposite, it's hard to get the basics out. And honestly, running both just gives 2 free prizes and they are too hard to get out and use effectively.. You waste two energy drops, and the only place you want that is when you're running Mag. However, I would probably use at least one in the majority of my decks(Mag, Eevee one I'm planning), I wouldn't use Pachi in GG(the most common deck around right now) or Phione in Mag or line-heavy decks.

I actualy thought that 3 Pachi, 2 Phione with mag/ty would be good.

And when they scramble and bench you, what do you do? You still need to get your basics and evolve you're pokemon, even with bannette. Bannette just doesn't use a starter to do it. But it still needs to be done.

Is it just me, or does this entire thread not make any sense. . .

There are so many other cards that have been way more over hyped than these two. Gardy, Gallade, Claydol, Absol(was), etc. Why not try to point out the flaws in those cards instead of re-doing articles that have already established the pros and cons of said cards.

I just don't see what you're trying to establish.

it isn't just you. i think he's just trying to make a name for his team. you've already lost the argument, you've had to alter it because you've had so much disagreement, and with good reason.
