Yeah.

If anything, abolish time limits. Let's see who wins then ~_~

i've seen too many people win or lose because of time, it's so stupid.
who cares if the tournies run all night, let them go. the time limits should be buffed up.

Bah!

Double elimination format instead of swiss. No time limits. No cuts. No tie-breakers. No stalling. Just fight it out until someone wins!

For the FIRST time in history, we agree on something. Hell must have froze over :)

For the reacord, I never actually agreed on any possible solutions (though I am biased towards the turn extension, not towards no time limits because that in itself is a stupid idea) All Im saying is something is wrong, its not up to me or you to decide how to fix it, thats POP's job. Looks they just changed the rules again.

I'm adding this one to my sig!

And, for those knocking the no time limit idea. I suggest that a tournament ran double elimination style format even with no time limits would end much sooner than X 30 minutes rounds of swiss with a cut to the top X.

Ice colds example would be better called.
running out the clock
than
legal stalling

William's post regarding
3 pts complete game win
2 points time limit win

we use to do that, there was a format for that..

Might need to look at that again :)

Abolish time limits?...

Right, cause people don't have lives outside of Pokemon. -.-;

I guess I'm the only one that wouldn't like to see time limits gone and tourneys taking up the whole day.

A double emilination format tournament without time limits would be over faster than a swiss then cut to top X with time limits tournament.

Oh boy .....

Most of my double elim softball tournaments dont go too fast. (most games play 25 min to 50 min.
They last for days. Could you imaging the bracket youd have to keep for 240 players
Id hate to be the person who traveled across the world to play two games and go home
with 240 people those in the winners bracket may wait hours upon hours until their next match

this may not be a good idea

Place

6th Place!

I think POOOOOKA!!!! was 5th...

[EDIT] This is Jordan.. my sister forgot to sign out..[EDIT/]

I saw the end Will's 8th round match at US nationals and I wouldnt really call it a blatent stall, both players where trying to get the last turn so they could break the tie and get the win, Will just got the last turn

Time limit takes away from the skill involved in the game... I say a rule be made to prevent shuffling loopholes... what I mean by this is that a person can find a way to legitimately shuffle 5 times in one turn, when they could technically have just shuffled ONCE after doing everything... games shouldn't be won like this... :D

example: wishing star w/ Jirachi, shuffle... Swoop! it into pidgey, shuffle, celio for piddgeot, shuffle, rare candy and quick search, shuffle... That's 4 shuffles in one turn, when in fact one shuffle after the last card that requires shuffling (Quick Search) would've sufficed... It gets pretty annoying when my opponent's shuffle 4-5 times in one turn, and take their time doing it...I myself at Nationals would shuffle AFTER wishing star/swoop/wally, instead of after each of them... :)

Furthermore, I say we eliminate PRIZES! yes prizes... I know they've been around since the beginning, but how many games have you won or lost due to whether or not something was prized!? I've won a many game, and LOST a many game due to the content of my prizes, we should eliminate prizes altogether, it takes away luck factor slightly from the game... we should just keep track of how many Pokemon we've KO'd on some scorecard :-D.

Discuss.
