Will there be another Georgia marathon this year?

After my plans for both Regionals and Nationals fell apart this year, I'm trying to plan ahead financially for the 2010-2011 season, and if there will be another Georgia marathon, I want to make sure I'll have enough money stashed away to make it there. I know it's a bit early to be planning for City Championships, but it would really help me to know how much I need to start saving up for all my OP expenses this year.
 
Well, I'm a fairly new player, so I don't know if it's something they do every year, or if it was only this past year.
 
its happened 3 years. from what i have heard, there is every intention of doing it again this year.

I hope so! One of the few chances I get to take off the judge's cap and pick up a deck and wrangle with the Vergals, Bianchi's, Silvestros', Currys, Rolls, et al of the world.

As Ryan noted, Gary, Greg and Tymon have coordinated events for 3 yrs running to make this happen. I expect it to occur next season also.

Hopefully this year you'll also have to face off against myself, the Breaux's, and all of Team Rocket! And maybe the Simmerman's too.

Also, how much do hotels, gas, and food for the week usually cost?
 
I think I may have secured a way to get there this year so you might be able to count in 5 Canadians or maybe even 6.
 
Zach if your up for it me and my dad are probably going to make the trek down there if you wanna come with us.

The Georga area PTOs organize their City Championships to occur during the Winter Break days starting on Christmas and ending whenever they run out of Cities to run. Last year, it ran from December 26 through January 4th, including New Year's Eve and Day. It wasn't announced officially until the beginning of November.
 
This is an incredible series of tournaments and we look forward to it each year. Just wish we could play in them all. Maybe this year!! Last year players came in from all parts of the country and made for some of the toughest tournaments of the year to win. Lots of points to be won over a short period of time and lots of memories to be formed. Hopefully it will get better and better.

the Details....This will be the 4th Straight Year With Some of the Best Pokemon
Players in the Nation in All Age Groups. Last Year they came from 13 different
States. We will Start playing on the Sunday or Monday after Christmas....Details
will be posted later. We averaged 92 per day on the 6 around the Atlanta area.

I can't wait. Last year was awesome. I have two suggestions I'd like to throw out there, if I may:

1) No more restaurants.
They're too crowded, and impractical. No one wants to interrupt a family's meal to tell them they have to move so that you can play Pokemon.

2) Start Dec 27 or later.
I believe last year may have started December 26. I could be mistaken, but either way, start on Dec 27 or later. That way, anyone celebrating Christmas outside of Georgia can make it to the first tournament.
 
Does anyone know what the dates are for this as I am Canadian and planning on going this year and need to plan pretty far in advance.
