Some ruling questions:
Why is Kyogre ex, a basic form, evolving from a (theoretical) water-type Azurill when Azurill is also a Basic. That's evolving a Basic to a Basic. Baby Evolution specifically states a pokemon by name to place on top of Azurill, so it is neither evolution by color nor a normal evolution. I don't see how that applies to mutant rules. Could I put a Basic Onix onto a Baby Tyrogue?

Also, was the LvX cards resolved? I thought PokePop was leaning towards saying that you can only play a level up card onto its respective normal form. So, in your example, the Wartortle would have to evolve into an Empoleon.

Does LvX represent the final stage? For example, could I level up into a Honchkrow LvX (a stage 1), and then evolve into a Dark-type Dark Dragonite (stage 2)?

Sorry, I forgot Azurill was colorless. For the example, assume it's Water.

For the sake of Mutant Draft, we're going with Baby Evolve into a regular Basic of the same color.
We can't expect a player to pull the right Basic for a regular Baby Evolution.

Same with Level X. The odds of getting the right Stage 2 or whatever is next to nil. So, a Level X that is normally placed on a Stage 2 can be placed on any stage 2 of the right color. A Level X that normally placed on a Basic can be placed on any Basic of the same color.

Also, once you reach Level X, you can't evolve again.
 
I was very disappointed with the mutant draft last year, The first thing that bothered me was the lady who ran it said if we used any even remotely bad words she was going to take all of our cards that we pulled and kick us out. Okay now I know Pokemon is a kid friendly game and I support the no bad language as much as the next guy but there is no reason to tell a little kid that you could take all of there cards. Secondly it was like 1 in the morning before it even started. And lastly the thing that bothered me more than anything was the fact it was single elimination, a fact that we were not told about untill after we had already signed up. I payed $20 to buy packs from a set I didn't even need, to sit around for an hour and half only to lose in 30 secs (no joke I got like turn 2ed or 3) and then to be told I was done. Like I said I did it for fun becuase I like hanging around with friends if anybody would have told me it was single elimination before I signed up I never would have done it. I don't care how you guys run it just let everybody know in advance.

First off, you may or may not have been asked to leave for language (makes me wonder what you were saying that made her give you the warning...), but you would have kept your cards. If you were acting up, you might have been told something to impress upon you the importance of behaving correctly.

Yes, it started late last year. That's why it's moving to a start time of 10pm this year.
That's also why it was single elim. To allow players to not have to stay up until 3 in the morning.
Since we're starting earlier this year, we'll make it swiss.
 
No POP you missed understood me, I didn't say anything that was all part of the pre tournament "meeting" when they went over all the rules.
 
I will vouch from what i saw 2 years ago in the last mutant draft the prizes are GOOD!! It would be with the time for anyone who likes drafting and good prizes to play. Also this is like no draft you have ever playing in so be ready fro a fun surprise.

Yea 06 was amazing, I had an absolute blast I went X-1, I believe only losing to the Champ, who got a nice little trophy. The absolute best part of the whole thing is when I pulled a Base Set Mewtwo and when I walk up and ask for 37 Psychic, the guy looks at me and say why do you want so many, and I say I just pulled a Baseset Mewtwo, the judges look at each other and say, yea its eleven at night and were trying to do a 4 round tournament were going to have to ask you to choose a different deck.
 
Jaeger, If you were bummed about it being single-elim, why didnt you ask before you signed up?

Seems to me you only have yourself to kick around there. Any player who is unsure of a format should be asking questions.

Now I agree that if she took away the cards you pulled, then you should of either been reimbursed your money, or the original packs (in which the latter is impossible). foul language is not tolerated at any pokemon event, whether premier or fun. If I was running it and heard foul language, you would be in your hotel room and not in my event.

Ill try to see if I can bring up a box or 2 of product for the draft, as Im having one at my league soon from our Nats box pool.

Pop - Can I bring up the energy evolution eevee question again then? If i attach a multi energy to it, can i get any stage 1 out of my deck to evolve him?

Also, why cant we evolve a leveled up pokemon? I have a perfect example here.
any water, dark, metal, or psychic basic ->evolve into the corresponding lv X (Palkia, darkrai, Dialga, Cresellia) use weavile's Dark Engage to turn them dark -> evolve into stage 1 dark -> level up to honchkrow X -> attach crystal shard -> evolve into stage 2 colorless -> level up into stage 2 lv X

then just for kicks, play Meteor Falls just for hilarity.

Thanks Duke...the She is me :) And i would not have taken ur cards but like its stated above "foul language is not tolerated at any pokemon event, whether premier or fun". Zero Tolerance

As far as Legends goes....I will ask PUI but this happened at a previous Worlds Mutant draft and the answer was:

The prerelease cards were not legal for our Mutant Draft.

DukeFireBird: It just honestly never crossed my mind, I played in 06 and it was swiss, combine that with the fact I have never seen a Pokemon draft run in single elimination format. So like I said it just honestly never crossed my mind. I'm going to have to disagree with you on the whole having to ask. I think any pokemon tournament that is going to be ran in the single elimination format (expecially one with such a high entry fee) it should be made well known that said tournament is going to be ran in the single elimination format.

I understand that you guys have a time frame to work in, and it was an issue of time not what you guys want that lead to the tournament being single elimination. I play this game for the same reason you do I enjoy it, expecially drafts I'm horrible at drafts I usually go 2-4 but I always have a blast becuase I can play pokemon with no pressure. All I'm try to say is if certain restrictions force you to do single elimination again I would really apprecitate if you would let us know in advance.

Spookees: I don't know if you had any trouble makers last year but if you did it was certainly not me, I'm a good guy and I have never had any problems at any of the tournaments I play in. I mainly play in Iowa, Minnisoda, Missouri, Wesconcin I more than welcome you to contact any of the PTO's. I don't have any problem with a zero tolerence policy towards language, your statement just really ticked me off, since I bought the cards so they were "mine" I just didn't like someone telling me they could take my cards.
 
I too disagree on the asking what structure the tournament will be run in. Tournament rules say that it is the staff's job (I forget who specifically) to tell instead of waiting to be asked.

I suppose if you're that lucky to pull all that in 6 packs, there'll another player who'll be lucky enough to pull ATM Rock and Omastar MD :eek:
 
Jaeger : Totally understand your point. I make the Zero tolerence announcement at each and every one of the events. Been doing it for over 2 years. I never intend to point fingers at any one person, its a general statement as always. we dont take cards away from those who are DQ'd, however they dont get any additional packs (that is IF we are able to give players more packs at the end of the event, so far each year we have been blessed with enuff donations from many Pokemon peeps we have been able to give each attendee something at the end of the event)
