Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Woot! It got announced!!! (Nintendo DSi)

Do the PSP Homebrew applications truly utilize all of the PSP's capabilities?

Reports are now saying that you can't change the lnguage from japanese on the menus. Is there anyone on here that got one that can confirm it?

I'm not sure what you're getting at here, if you're suggesting the DS can somehow rival the PSP because all of those einstein homebrew developers (WHICH ARE ALL HOOOORIBLE GAMES =\) will somehow overclock it so far it'll resemble the PSP I have nothing to say to you except LOLOLOLOLOLOL times infinity. And ONCE AGAIN this "opportunity" that all of you keep getting at HAS existed since FOREVER because flashcarts provide EVERYTHING AND MORE that this SD card slot does. In other words...all of those ammaaaazziiiinnnggg things you believe the DSi can do the DS/DSL can also do, the only reason it hasn't YET is because it NEVER will.

Here's the problem though...

The DS has superior developed games.

What the PSP has over the DS currently is Homebrew. Don't poke the Flashcarts at us. You can't stick a flashcart into a computer and code there. You can't bring anything onto a DS using a flashcart. You can stick an SD into any computer. Much like you can stick a Memory Stick into any computer.

I don't like the DSi, and I won't be getting it. Still, the opportunities that it presents for legitimate independent coders to experiment with the dual screens is exciting.

Ironically I can't even play video games 'cuz I had a Seizure. But I still wrote this thread because I thought everyone should know about it. Of course if I ever get done with this Seizure stuff I'll probalbly buy this but honestly you all have such great points that I don't really know what to think of it.

The "homebrew" the PSP has over DS are PS1 and N64 emulators as well as various PC emulations...which the DS will never be able to handle. Flashcarts have a slot for microSDs...it's the same thing =\ also homebrew developers don't give a flying [tauros] about accessibility, it's not like they just remember how to program when a new system comes out, lol...there has been some PC ports for DS like Quake I, II, Doom I, II, and Duke Nukem, but they're buggy AT BEST and shooters don't really work without 2 control sticks...the touch screen is a poor replacement for the right-analog stick (C-stick for GameCube, etc)

The PSP has better homebrew games then the DS, but I find the DS has better DS Apps and its harder to brick a DS then a PSP. (Some of Sony's own Firmware bricked mine once and I never knew about all of the homebrew then.) The DS has always rivaled the PSP. Nintendo has better games and cost less. I mean ya there was the PSX play on the PSP, but I can do that on my Wii too.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

You can't bring anything onto a DS using a flashcart. You can stick an SD into any computer.
False!
You can change the firmware or your DS or DS Lite to a custom Firmware or alter the on on there already for slot 2 flash carts to auto boot.

Oh my GOD...

Am I saying the PSP is better? No! Its games are horrible
My POINT is the DSi will not introduce ANYTHING NEW.

Can you load homebrews onto the SD card and play it?

For the DSi they are working on it.
(Won't take long)

On my Wii and DS, I can at the time.

I am not saying the Homebrew games are good, I think that the apps are.
I know the homebrew games are the worst.
Its the apps that make the homebrew, thats one of the reasons the PSP is a hit.

(HOMEBREW IS NOT ILLEGAL FOR THE LAST TIME!)
