Worlds 2007 announced to be in Hawaii.

I doubt it will but it will definitely make it harder for players to grind in, which I'm all in favor for.

This is a pretty brilliant way to deal with bias for LCQ's. Since Hawaii has very few people that competitively play pokemon, most people will have to go through the same troubles to grind. Even though I would guess that it would be more expensive to go from New York than it would be from L.A.

So it is true.

One of the Organizers said that it might be in Hawaii, but wasn't really able to say 'yes' or 'no', hence I haven't said anything.

That's cool though. I can start planning for a vacation to Hawaii. =)

There's going to be an LCQ next year?

Well, I love the grinder fairness, but there's a more sinister purpose yet. Think about it. Worlds is in California twice, next in Hawaii... They keep moving it closer and closer to Japan.

There are some weird rumors going around about the amount of invites for worlds 2007.
I do hope the full program for next season will be announced soon after worlds 2006.

I have my doubts about the LCQ next year, could be true they will even drop it, that would make sense with the other rumors.

Rumors, so no confirmation at all, so please don't take this for granted please.

Dont get your hopes up that the % in USA for invites to remain the same. IMO it has to go down. I dont know any inside info, but I cannot imagine PUI/POP giving the USA 170 or so trips to Hawaii (all age groups)

No word on a LCQ....maybe it will be closer to TMB where it truly is invite only?????? Who knows but PUI/POP!

I just hope this year they will give more trips for people around the world.

Doesn't anyone think that if the Worlds was in Europe it would be much better than Hawai?

2008? meaby

Looks like it'll be a great place to go, but unless I win a trip its just too expensive to go. I think the attendances will be much lower with the US and Europe having difficulty going.

Might be. I can see a shift of trips from Gyms to Regs which would as well limit the final number.
No trips for Gyms, 2 trips for Regs. 20+ trips spared (IIRC).

Watching TV yesterday I wondered if Pokemon could use regional champions as invites to worlds like the Little League does.

Might work

..And once again PUI sticks it to their largest fan base.

Wow

How is it sticking it to anybody?
Have you seen the rest of the OP schedule?
You have been given a DATE for an event and thats it.

Based on one piece of info your making statements like that.

Geesh............

breathe deep and relax.

Pardon?

The fan base are ALL WORLDWIDE players.
Every player outside Japan, pays for the OP funds, and therefor it should be split up more equal.

Everybody is part of the same program so don't make statements like this, you show you don't know what you are talking about.

My prediction.

Less invites+trip inside the USA.
More invites+trip (payed by POP/PUI) spreaded around the World.

At least if we are finally heading a real Worlds tournament.
Many international players payed for their own trip, because it's the only way to get to Worlds.
If you talk about dedication and fans, you should definitly look outside your borders.

With Hawaii, we MAY be able to see a raise of trip invites froom the following countries:

Australia
New Zealand
Malayasia
Singapore
Indonesia
Philipines
Taiwan
China (hongkong).
