Worlds Invite Structure ?!

I haven't been to a Premier Event yet this season. How many more events are going to pass where I'm going to regret not going to them? Or am I going to be the smart one for not going? It'd be nice to know...like now.

Maybe they're going to change it up so that the one with the LOWEST rating gets the invite!!!

The game is so luck based I doubt I'd make much of a difference :/

*gets his deck with 4 Unown Q 4 Great Ball 4 Roseanne 4 Luxury 4 Fast Ball 4 Bebe 4 Pokedex 4 Drawer 4 Uxie 4 Super Scoop Up 4 V. Medal 16 NRG and wins against DP*

I am personally playing like if it is teh same structure. I expect it will be T25, but while I am unsure I am still playing the same way I always do, to win. If I get an invite great, if not oh well. The fact is the game should be fun. Yes, I know the invite is important to a LOT of poeple, but having fun should outweigh getting an invite. I played for 6 or 7 years or so before I got my first invite in 06. I played the game for fun and eventually I was rewarded, My goal every year is to make Worlds, but my overall goal is to have fun. If I am not having fun, there is no reason to care about where I have to be to qualify for Worlds.

Saying that, I still think that the Invite Structure should of been released by now. It seems that POP is working on a lot of new and cool things that have seriously delayed them this year. I am sure they are trying thier hardest to catch up so that next year this does't happened. Personally I am more worried about where Nationals is, then the Worlds Invite Structure.

I agree with Drew about Nationals. I would just expect with the end of the year approaching we would've heard SOMETHING by now about the major tournaments of the season, as these events need to be planned far in advance and the community needs to make plans far in advance in order to attend.

I am starting to worry a bit regarding the structure of the 2009/10 season at this point. I hope POP releases info soon, as it is getting a bit ridiculous. It has been over 2 months since it should have been announced, going by the previous few years. Hopefully, teh delay is well worth the wait as others have mentioned, and the whole OP system is improved to cater for more international audiences, as i feel that is where POP needs to expand more.

IMO I think if there was anything good to report it would have been said already in order to foster excitement over the coming year and make people want to buy cards. Instead they stand to get better sales by not revealing the unchanged structure and have people assuming whatever they want.

I expect that they'll announce how everything is within the first several weeks of the new year after the holidays.

Normally, I don't think people would care about the invite structure...
But Hawaii and how they were done in '07 is what makes things different.

Now how does it work, as far as invites go? Do you still have to pay for the trip to go to Hawaii, even if you get the invite?

Yes. I don't think any invites were given with travel awards last year ( correct me if I'm wrong ), just from Nationals. That might change this year, but I would think it would be for those who have to pay the most to get to Hawaii - Europeons.

It's not a Worlds at all.....??

It is more of the cost than anything. I don't have an issue having in Hawaii, but when the rooms are 300 per night and the food costs about 50+ per day it is a bit much. That's not including anything else you might do in Hawaii that you might need to spend it on. I understand what you are saying about new players being there, but Worlds isn't Worlds when players who earned an invite turn it down because it is too expensive to go. If 2007 was any indication, I would have to agree that lower attendance is going to happen.

Drew

if you think that 50+ for food and 200 + per night is expensive you havent gone for vacations in Greece :p

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

You've got issues, go figure how europeans feel about that...

rly want to know?

well

eemm
i see americans crying for that ...

eemm
hello
you arent the only players for the game and it is Worlds

when was the last time it was hosted in Europe(or at least in Japan... )?

eemm....

and you go to your city championship and earn thr right to compete in Worlds
(cause POP stopped sending invitation for us since 2004)
and NEVER they paid for the air plane tickets or the hotel.

for to me compete in worlds i have to do a trip to italy or england to win there and earn the right to compete in worlds
which means 1 vacation to italy or england and one to worlds.

now you still crying about the cost?

im doin 2 part time jobs exept from university to have the money to do that.

(im still thinking why im playing the game while the REFUSE to support us (pop rejected even sending promo cards or prerelease for tournaments we hold here )

First, you need to get over yourself as this wasn't a thread about how much you can afford to play this game in your area, it was about Worlds in Hawaii. None of us our "crying" we are voicing our complaints in a forum that is read by POP.

As far as 200+ per night, think closer to 300-350+ per night for the room and that still doesn't cover the cost of everything.

This is off topic, but I do hope that announce both this and where Nats is soon.

okay im voicing too then.

ur complaints is that is hosted in HAwai. im complaining that it is never hosted in europe (im not talking about hosting IN my country(everyone "complaiing" for this to be hosted in Hawai where everything is expensive") but somewhere IN Europe)

i have to pay 3-4 air plane tickets to get there and you have only one.
(which means that i will never experience worlds as long as it is not hosted somewhere "close" (less than 8 hours with plane) to me
so deal with it you are much better condition about it and let others "complain" about it.

I never said I had an issue with it being held in Europe. There are plenty of places in Europe that are much cheaper than Hawaii. I will also say telling me to deal with it when I agree with the Europe part isn't helping your cause. I live in NJ so Europe and Hawaii are somewhat comparable as far as how long it takes to get there depending on where I am going.

The point is that POP/TPC can't please everyone no matter where it is held, but they can give us the invite structure somewhat soon so we can know what we have to do to earn a spot in Worlds which is what this thread is pretty much about. :thumb:

okay i agree :)

but can we get invite? :(

( for me its still expensive to go either england or italy for tournament( to earn the invitation) i want em to have 1-2 invites for us in greece :(

(and not even refusing to send promo cards... )

and its worlds after all ... not a international tourney for americans , japanese, austalians, NL, italian, english pep

give some invitations for other countries too :(

(the easiest solution about it for me it is a tournament to held 2 days before worlds where worlds is hosted to give a chance to every player that his country wont get invites and the T4 or T8 to get the invites ) :)
