Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

You spoke, Pokemon OP listened!

That's great! But where in the world am I to get Japanese Pokemon sleeves like the ones pictured in the OP?

eBay, on-line gaming stores and perhaps even a card shop near you, although that is probably a long shot.

Ok, so I'm still a little confused.

The Ultra-Pro Gallery sleeves are obviously a no-go.

What about the Ultra-Pro shiny and metallic sleeves (solid color)?

Now johhnyblaze wont have to burn his pokemon art sleeves LOL. Its nice to see POP make a medium so we all dont riot over this decision.
You mean the Ultra-Pro ones that are still illegal?

I wouldn't exactly say that they listened. They chose the 5th most popular choice out of 7. Of all the options for sleeves (if you exclude those who don't use sleeves and those who use toploaders, which I thought wasn't legal anyway), it is actually the least popular choice :/

Actually I strongly think they have listened because the current gossip in the "rumor mill" points out that Ultra Pro is coming out with new sleeves, only this time, there won't be any art on all the sides which eliminates the pattern we saw in the original "whine" thread....

I, myself am still not pleased. I don't live in Japan, and hence have not purchased any of those "Official" Pokemon sleeves. (I haven't purchased any through Ebay either.)

What I HAVE purchased was around 12 packs of the Ultra-Pro Pokemon Sleeves - (I guess that these are now considered to be "unofficial.") I still have 3 or 4 unopened.

I guess I'll save them to play with at my League during game-play, (since this has not yet been banned, although, that may be the next move - ya know, you have to watch out for those sneaky league members who know how to set their decks and mark their cards - especially those under 10.)

...And, with respect to those "New-and-improved-newly-sanctioned-Pokemon-Sleeves" (that are to be released), thank you but no thank you! I'll skip them. I just purchased a generic pack of 100 black colored sleeves - (not 50) - last weekend, (for only $1.00 more than the price of the current 50-count "Unofficial Pokemon artwork sleeves). These will now be my "Official-tournament-Legal" sleeves.

THey're official, but they don't meet the "solid colored edge" requirement.

Well Thats Good That They Are Allowing The Ones For The Japanese Sleeves. I Myself Have The Japanese And The Ultra-pro Cards Of Pokemon. They Dont Have Something Inapporpiate That The Kids Going To Gasp About Them. I Just Hope That They Allow The Pokemon Art On The Sleeves.

P-P,

They are not "Official" in tournament play. This is the point that I was making.

...And, for that matter "Tournament Play" is really the only thing that makes any difference, since League-play is pretty much irrelevant.

A step in the right direction for sure.

Here's hoping that the new Ultra-Pro sleeves (assuming the rumors are true) come in packs of 60 this time. Sheesh XD Maybe even 61 or so, in case one breaks? You'd have thought that they would have done it that way in the beginning for the official Pokemon sleeves.

I still do not care for the ruling. My sleeves are a way of expressing myself much like an artist has their artwork or someone expresses themselves with tatoos. If someone wants to cheat badly enough, they will surely find a way. It's not that hard. Why do you think that there are so many cameras in AC and Vegas?! Anyone who knows what they are doing can get around it. Besides, who, exactly, have they caught doing this? And why wasn't the 'problem' simply removed from POP?

Besides, what about some of the shirts and logos that people wear? Some of them can be considered scary to little children. Does POP wish to incorporate a dress code also? Maybe we can all come in uniforms.

That's a good point. You have to wonder what's next: dress codes, language and things like that. But the cheating is probably the biggest reason, I still don't see the questionable content on the sleeves as an issue, I would bet that 99% of it would be in the 15+ age group anyway.
