Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Yu-Gi-Oh! #1 Top Collectible Games--Q2 2010

I started playng ygo again as well, dunno pokemon just seems kinda boring right now, new sets are pretty crappy and thanks to the rotation well see another year of luxchomp anyway. I stopped playing ygo to play pokemon back then, because pokemon was the better game, right now its the other way around.
This is why YGO got top collectible game of Q2. The format right now completely sucks (i think i'm crazy to say this, but I'd rather have GG than this). The game is stale so people may leave it until it gets better.

I agree with whats said before, that theres so many viable decks in yugioh compared to pokemon. Granted there are still staple cards (change of heart, monster reborn), but decks that win in yugioh are fairly high in number.

im not familiar with yugioh, but i think monster reborn is banned. Just saying.

One reason why I think YGO keeps dipping and spiking is because of it's unlimited format. Because they only ban certain cards instead of rotating out entire sets, there is an enormous amount of replay-ability from past players who want to start playing again. They don't have to worry about all their cards being illegal to use, and can just hop right back in.

With new sets still supporting old deck designs (like zombies, or amazons), these old players are seduced back into the game. So, even when popularity dies down, something small like a new set can suddenly spike the popularity of the game.

That's my theory of course.

No its not, the game to be honest has recently undergone quite a few changes to make the meta more diverse and less of a money game. At U.S. Nats Large variety of Decks made top 32 (At least 8 different deck)

Matt how long have you been working for them?

I'm so not feeling this. The format right now, pre-worlds at least, is AMAZING. The meta is so wide that no matter which deck you play, there are bound to be multiple very bad matchups in your way, thus making deck choice VERY difficult and tossing most of the games' outcomes to matchups. Most of the tournament is determined by the opponent's decks; and there is no 'safe choice' with good matchups across the board. Either way, you're gonna have to rely on some lucky opponent draws.

Luxchomp is nowhere near as good as Gardy was in 08. I love how over half of topcut in masters was luxchomp, yet the winner's deck was Sablelock. Plus, Gardy was beating Luxchomp quite a bit. Luxchomp struggles with Judge as well. I honestly wouldn't even put Luxchomp at BDIF; I'd give that to Plox.

How is that NOT a healthy format?

Well yughio hase some masive problems with it so yea like heres one yughio players are real agrsive and stupid just like the game!!
