I’m just kind of speechless at this point. This has just been the worst season of Pokemon since I started playing like 5 years ago. I was actually holding out hope for this set, but like so many times before, I shouldn’t get my expectations up at all. We started this season off with the controversial decision to keep an MD-on format (thereby extending SP’s dominance), it’s almost time for State Championships and we just got our ratings posted, Japan has shifted to an HGSS-on format while we’ll probably chug along with our unhealthy version of the game, that rule for the top cut was inexplicably changed, we lost the use of foreign cards entirely this season, Gust of Wind is returning soon, decks can currently do like 100+ damage first turn (Uxie donk) or up to 250 damage second turn (Mewperior), and then there’s this set… which just feels like a cruel joke to competitive players.

I know that P!P has some limitations on what they can and can’t do. I know they work hard at producing a healthy, fun game for all parties involved. However, I also think that they’ve made some poor decisions lately – decisions that have hurt the format and kept the game in the same place it was two seasons ago when SP’s hit the scene. My brother was joking around last season when he said that maybe he’d be able to play Palkia Lock at Regionals for a third year in a row. Sadly, he’ll more than likely get his wish.

This set is looking to be quite pathetic… :<

So, it seems to me that the only reason the remaining cards of Lost Link are in here is so people would buy it.

Pretty lame.

Are we clear with how all this stuff works now?
Good. Back to discussing the cards in the set. I haven't seen one reprint being discussed yet that everyone will be very happy to see.
Can't wait until that one gets discovered!
Maybe that will be a surprise on Saturday!

Did I say "amazing"?
I don't want to overhype.
I'll just say that it's a card that you find in competitive decks.

Oh, and then there is the other stuff that players are going to love seeing in the set...

Those were the two. I'm not sure what's to misinterpret...

"Other stuff" is the holo energy, for sure.

"One reprint" "everyone will be happy to see" "find in competitive decks" ....... OMG it's totally Unown Q! :p There's not much else that fits, given what we know of the set.

@CFOURCOLTSFAN: We don't know that there's even a PR card. Generally it's revealed by now. Also, you need to keep in mind that this set is preparing for HGSS on. It's giving new players and those that don't attend/buy often a second chance at a couple of good cards, like Ninetales and Umbreon.

@cmak37: As I stated in my post above yours, I REALLY doubt they'd reprint Mesprit.

@Victory Bell: No Collector. There's no room in the numbers for it, unless they retitled it just 'Collector' instead of 'Pokemon Collector'.

@Kayle: What if they knocked Slowking down to a rare instead of a rare holo? Or bumped Slowbro up to a rare, lol. That'd fit the space left in your list with the pixies.

Sure i guess but can't you buy a theme deck and get 2 umbreons and heck even a shot at smeargle?
And ninetales is good just not really played right now...
Why couldn't they give us some ENG-exculsive cards like w/ PK...

^
too bad i have like 5 packs of OP holo and then i have like 5 of each the HGSS ones, not to mention the most basic energy seen nowadays is like 8?

Don't get your hopes up about the reprint he's talking about. It's not going to be anything too great.

i'd be happy if they had a random reprint of Jumpluff or DCE or Collector...
i was planning on going to a pr on sunday but i might not go b/c idk how i could possilbly break even w/ this crap, i mean the lost world/mime/reprint t/s/s are the only playables and are all uncommons...
uggh.

holy god this thread...

CRY SOME MORE

no ones forcing you to buy this set, no one cares that you're not buying this set because small children will buy this set.
