ACE SPEC cards appear to only be rares in the scans. Each half set has 4 FAs and two shiny cards. So a grand total of 6 regular EXs + 6 FA EXs + 2 FA trainers + 4 shinys comes out to 18 chase cards.

By comparison DEX had 15 ultra rares, NDE had 16, NVI had 6, EP had 2, and BW had 3. If we go card for card for Dragon Blade/ Dragon Blast we get 16. So this set isn't too big of a jump from the usual that we have now.

Anyone notice this.

Dusknoir – Psychic – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Dusclops

Ability: Dark Hand
As often as you like during your turn, you may move 1 damage counter on 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon to another one of his or her Pokemon.

[P][C][C][C] Shadow Punch: 60 damage. This attack isn’t affected by Resistance.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

Yes. Yes I did. My thought was "can I find a way to make him work with Kyurem?"

My very first thought was to re-read the Ability several times, to make sure it was what I hoped it was, and not like a throwback to Fossil Gengar (where once per turn you could move 1 damage counter from one opponent's Pokemon to another opponent's Pokemon).

If you can do some good spread damage, it looks pretty effective... except of course for the danger of the Weakness.

If ditto is going to be played the way it worded it going be OP
here why
-add another pokemon that a idel starter on your turn u can seearch other basic to play on it
- will help any basic with lower hp because if play as word u can play a basic then eve it to a
stage 1 or stage 2 with rare candy if the ditto has been played for 1 turn
- help mess ur oppent and what ur playing if u only have dittos in play

You happen to be part of those who say otherwise. You run Toxicroak with Cresselia and Royal Heal Serperior as well as Lunatone/Ether for Energy Accel and Potion variants for further healing. Also include Eviolite to tank even further. Plus this deck could itself run Mewtwo.
Not to mention Pokemon Center.

If Cressalia was equipped with an Eviolite it's essentially 190 hp. In order to effectively tank it needs to attack as well. Let's say it got to 2 energy, mewtwo would need 3 energy to OHKO it. Let's say it has the full 4, mewto would OHKO just with the energy it needs to use the attack. She is not an EFFECTIVE counter AT ALL if she even gets energy to attack mewtwo then she's dead by the next mewtwo with a DCE. The healing factor does not help when you can catcher it and KO it with mewto having 4 and a PP or 5 and her having an Eviolite. Neither scenario is hard for Mewtwo to accomplish. She is a HORRIBLE tank when mewtwo is concerned, and as long as he is legal, be will always be concerned. Healing and other cards that heal and the likes of Eviolite do nothing to help her.

Thirty seconds of effort gave me this theorymon. Probably needs more draw support and less other stuff but meh.

Come at me, format.

Very nice. I don't know about 30 sec but I'll take your word for it. Revive could work since Celebi would likely be Catcher bait and Venipede with Poison Point and Rocky Helmet is a mini tank. Rare Candy isn't needed because you want to go through the whole evolution to attack for 1 Energy. Other than that it looks awesome.

HEY. I just thought of a way to make Raticate broken. Pair it with Sporprise Amoonguss. Play Amoonguss to Poison, use Super Fang to bring it down to 10HP let Poison finish it off. OHKO every time. Use Aspertia stadium and Large Cloak to up Raticate's HP. This was just off the top of my head but It's totally doable. Of course Devolution Spray is needed...

If the attack was for two energy this could work but that fact that it is 3 energy should make this binder fodder, but time will tell.

I am loving this set! I love all the possibilities this set has with rogues and such. I especially like Toixcroak. I also kinda like Ratticate, you can go up to a 180 hp pokemon and Super Fang it down to 10 hp, too bad for its horrible hp itself.

Raticate makes me laugh. Would be funny to Super Fang a poisoned Pokemon. Or a Pokemon equipped with Large Cloak, only to toolscrapper it next turn.

Wait, is Whimsicott's translation incomplete, or does it add to bench damage? If it does, it works really well with Kyurem... (Both for the added bench damage and the fact you could end up with some Outrageable damage.) With Dusknoir also out... I think you can see the potential if it does.

I guess I'll post here instead of making a new thread for it. Does anyone know the average ratio for this set? For regular EXs, FAs, shinies and Ace Specs?

If you're wondering, Japan's ratios don't match our ratios. Even with 8 EXs, we're likely to still get 1 FA, 2 non-FA per box.

JPN boxes typically contain 3 EX (Less if there is either a FA or a Secret Rare), 1 of each "Rare" which are Holo Rares as we know them, and 2/3 of each Common/Uncommon. Since the ACE SPECS are Rares in JPN, they are 1 per box there.

Unfortunately/fortunately, depending on your side of the issue, they will likely be Rares in America.

Yes, I realise that. I'm wanting to know the ratio for the Japanese set.

Thanks. I was mostly wondering if the FA ratio had changed this time since there are 4 FA's in each BW6 set when the last set only had 3.
And the Ace Specs only count as regular holo rares in this set? That's good to know.

Ratticate/Flygon could be fun. Reduce hp down to 10 on different pokemon until you set up flygon and let him ko them between turns. With perfect setup. All 6 prizes by turn 4(provided ratticate only hits exs). Ratticate could also be good with dusknoir. 170 damage on an ex, next turn shift all the damage around getting kos. Rinse and repeat. Ratticate/flygon/dusknoir Worlds 2013 champion.

Except Max Potion is already fairly popular. Your best bet, and this was already mentioned, would be to find a way to quickly power-up Raticate and follow the old "Liability" model, where you write your attacker off as being KO bait so that once it is gone, you promote something that places the last damage counter and take your Prize... or preferably Prizes by taking down a Pokemon EX.

Oh, and some Liability Variants also would use a trick like inflicting Poison before lowering the Defending Pokemon to 10 HP... and again that has also been a suggested deck focus. Waiting too long to "cash in" just begs for healing or, of course, an opponent simply stomping out enough of your Pokemon. ;)

Still, sounds like a fun deck.
