Turn 2 Kricketune'd

lolganium, if you don't have anything to contribute to the thread other than how much you think Kricketune is not the deck to play, post somewhere else.

I rode the Kricket to a 2nd place in the Portland OR BR 9/22 in the Master's division. I took a DQ on a tool ruling (already had Cess and I mistakenly dropped Strength charm then both players scooped cards) or I would have maybe won the tourney. The deck is outrageously fast and with TGW and Cessation can be a huge pain to deal with. My opponents ran Feraligatr d (one with Nidoqueen d, another with Meg d), Empoleon, and a rogue Swampert ex/Latias ex. Probably lucky I didn't face Ape or Magmortar...still I was surprised the Kricket came through.

i've been contributing. atm, i feel this deck is no more than a juniors deck.

i also see this deck needs help, carnive

oh, and one other thing............T......S......D

now the deck works better

Personally I'll say this - I dislike the "deck" (even though I got 2nd in Masters with it). It just has that weird feeling to it...similar to how I felt about Flariados way back when. I saw a lot of it at my BR but from what I saw it didn't do too well...however its all how you play it. As I said in my other post, I will not post my list since it is still a possible choice for me for other BR's (even though I doubt I'll use it) but with a solid list you can consistantly do 70 or 80 T2 before PlusPowers/Strength Charms AND keep up the cycle with no problem. TSD is great, but during my BR I got all tails twice. I played 3 TSD and 2 Maintenance...I will say that much. Also, Wager is essential because chances are you will be mulliganing....a lot....so you're going to need that disruption VERY early to shrink your opponents hand size before they get set up with the large hand they get from your mulligans.

Heres my current deck list for this deck

Pokemon
4-4 Kricketune

Trainers
4 Castaway
4 Team Galatic's Wadger
4 Celeios
3 TV Reporter
2 Island Hermit
1 Prof Rowan
4 Quick Ball
4 Great Ball
2 Pokedex Handy
2 Time Space Distortion
3 Night Maintence
2 Warp point
2 Cessation Crytsal
1 Strength Charm

Energy
14 Grass

i plan on taking this to Battle Road. i'm missing 3 Castaway and a TSD. I should have the cash to buy a 2nd TSD in time for the BR but i'm having a hard time finding castaways in general

if you have any to trade PM me

Run DRE or if you don't then run beach
IMO i would take out Hermits and a warp if you choose to go with beach

I played the deck for a while, and, of course, the deck is strong early, but past T3 or T4, EVERYTHING OHKOs 'tune. So, I traded my tunes for a Japanese CG Charizard.

i don't have any in my arsenal and i'm more worried about getting castaways first. i'll keep an eye out for Stevens but i have hermits on hand right now

hmmm maybe copycat is better then hermit

I think a lot of people here have the wrong idea. It seems to me like if you don't have an almost PERFECT list, the deck bombs. I haven't missed a T2 in the past like 15 games. Cessation + Wager + T2 70-80 = go home to most decks. You NEED TSD though.

Hermit is a cute concept, but yeah, Copycat is better. I'll take my chances at hitting the prized stuff I guess.

Bobby: Do you play 3 or 4 TGW then? My early build had 2 TGWs, but I'm going to up that.

4 TGW is essential. In every match-up, the opponent has inevitability, so you have to be as disruptive as you can.

I tested today Hurricane vs. Kricktune and 5-1, if krick gets the T2 OHKO then they have a huge advantage but having no basics, sometimes 4-6 times...

I don't think it matters if :fire: pokes are in the metagame or not for this deck. Infernape/Magmortar will just OHKO it without the weakness, so why does it matter? If this speedy deck can set up before those decks, they're bug chow.

I'm running Island Hermit in my Kricket test deck and I think it rules in this deck. You *have* to give yourself one more advantage, and it's been great for me, personally.

I also use only 2 TGW and find them to be "everywhere" (I'm never without one!).

I do like this deck quite a lot.

KG: If you run any castaway (which I'm guessing you do!), then the Wager is easy to find. Quicktune is a nifty lil deck.
