I agree with everything said here. I bought a RH of this simply because its adorable. I will never play it.

    HGSS-on BearPlume

Good luck with the rest of your testing, Stuart. I think I'm resigning my Beartplume deck. I played 3 battle roads and got 15th, 3rd, then 13th. I'm happy I scored a victory cup with the big ol bear and somewhat surprised I did THAT well with him. Truth is, this is a speed-based format right...

    2011-10-08 A Basic Comparison EP Cubchoo 028

This little guy is great. His retreat cost is a pain, but his HP and ability to heal himself can keep him alive a few early game turns while you get a Beartic evolved. His attacks are easy to use for low amounts of energy. Putting your opponent to sleep can also help ensure that you stay...

How to Play Like a Pro

I like this tip, but I'm not sure if it's legal to cover a pokemon that is in play. Shouldn't its information all be visible at all times while it is in play? Also how will you lay a card in top of a pokemon with damage counters on it?. That doesn't seem fair to your opponent, or legal (i'm not...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

I had no trouble with Machamp or Magnezone. Their high retreat cost sort of locks them unable to do much. Yanmega is bad news, but surprisingly I didn't see it much in either of the 2 battle roads I went to. I got beat by a Mewbox deck with it in there. I think the key when you're going against...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

I am gonna do one more Battle Roads with this deck. I'm thinking of maxing Collector and dropping Flower Shop Lady. I'm not sure though... I don't feel like I've really needed her.

The Pokemon Card Garage Episode 2: Dialga (3/95)

    >.> How is having to have 4 of a specific type of energy just to do 70 damage even remotely decent? Even on a basic, this is a horrendous attack cost for the damage amount, especially considering its complete lack of beneficial effects.

    HGSS-on BearPlume

I think you have to make a few sacrifices to use Beartic... one of those being that free retreat Pokemon will be a pain to take down. Mostly you'll have trouble with Mew and Yanmega. There may be a better tech against them than Zoroark. I have him in here more for Reshirams and Zekroms. I think...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

Jesfa, I'm running 3 Collectors and 2 Cleffas. I'd say only run Pichu if you are running a build where you NEED to set up a ton of different pokemon for it to work. My build can work just fine with only Beartic and Vileplume, so I use cleffa. Dodrio and Zoroark are optional and are usually there...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

Wow, so many things have come up since I last checked this. I would like to address a handful of suggestions that were made.. Gliscor vs. Tentacruel: Tentacruel would definitely work better than Gliscor energywise. Retreatwise it would be trouble if you don't have Dodrio out. In my play...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

I have a more recent build than the one on the original post. It's probably on page 3 or something. It has no rainbows. I should post it on the front page too I guess.

    HGSS-on BearPlume

Jesfa, I ran this same run of pokemon exactly for a while, and I can say that Gliscor is a victim of "theorymon". It works so great in theory, in reality... it's terribly inconsistent with that many pokemon floating around in the deck. Also having to have 3 energy types in the deck is probably...

    HGSS-on BearPlume

That's great if the Tyrogue doesn't wake up and get KO'd. Also great if it wakes up by your next turn so you can actually retreat it under trainer lock. Sounds too flippy to me. I hate coin flips and have horrible luck. I know Cleffa has the same problem, but I really value the draw power option...

    What is Tornadus for?

    HGSS-on BearPlume

Definitely stick with Dodrio. Beartic is kind of lost without him. 3 Vileplume is overkill in my opinion. They always clog my hand, and I've done fine with just 2 so I dropped back down to 2 on that. Vileplume getting sniped is not a big issue, as it takes Yanmega 3 turns to do. I'm much more...
