Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2 regionals rumor

so is it going to go:

battle roads
regionals
cities
states
regionals
battle roads
nationals
worlds?

or are they cutting down on events and getting rid of cities?
i think cities are the best tournaments; they run from november-january.
i like the fact that if i wanted to, i could go to a tournament every few weeks

So far, nobody seems to think City's are going. Personally, I don't TCPi cutting them. imo, thats a good thing

More regionals = possibly less attendees to each meaning much more smooth tournaments.
I think this is a great move and a way to have big tournaments in possible new locations.

the california site claims that cities are happening this year

Autumn Battle Roads (Sept. 17 to Oct. 16)

Event locations and dates coming soon...

Fall Prereleases (Oct. 29 to Nov. 6)

Event locations and dates coming soon...

Regional Championships (Nov. 12-13)

Yes, this is not a mistake! The Southwest USA Regional Championship will be held every Fall starting with this year. Stay tuned for exciting additions and updates. The event location will be coming soon...

City Championships (Nov. 25 to Jan. 8, 2012)

Event locations and dates coming soon...

Y'know, I'd actually be really disappointed if BW3 wasn't legal for Regionals. I love huge meta shakeups before large tournaments.

It'd be kinda tragic if Cities were eliminated from the equation, so I'm glad that they're still on schedule. Don't get me wrong: I LOVE the idea of more Regionals, but I'd rather have that happen at the expense of Battle Roads than of Cities.

But speaking of "expense," just what is justifying this change? Is there a sudden bump in budget, or are the regionals just being split in half between the two segments? If so, then...ROAD TRIP!!!

Pablo is correct. The release date for BW3 is 11/16.

Link, please? I don't see that anywhere.

This would never happen, they wouldn't do:

Cities
Regionals
Regionals
States
Nats
Worlds

That wouldn't happen, jussayin'.

Two Regionals isn't necessarily confirmed until someone comes out and says some are in April. Right now all we know is that SoCal Regionals is in November. We also know that there are Fall Battle Roads and Noble Victories Pre-Releases prior to Regionals in November. Cities are also confirmed for the same time frame they always are. Past that, we know nothing.

Cities are 100% confirmed. If California's events website isn't good enough for you, then maybe a San Diego City listed on the OP tournament website is good enough?

Look, it cost more money for everyone, but it has to be done.

NorthEast regionals this year was 8 Rounds with a Top 32 cut. They were forced to make TOp Cut 45 minutes +3 turns. They started the tournament at about 11AM, ran it pretty smoothly, and still it ran til Midnight. They almost ran out of time.

If this rumor is true, I will be incredibly happy. There aren't enough big competitions in the year imo

Try having to judge until past 1 AM like I did, but we managed it in one day.

so its instead of BR's there is basically one regionals per state? If so anyone know the official dates for all of them or is it varied among different weeks?

no one...............

So its going to be a ton of tourneys?

Br's
Regs
Cities
States
Regs
Cities
Br's

(If the order is wrong sorry.)

I think it'd be this-
Autumn BR's
"Autumn Regionals"
Cities
States/Province/Territory
"Spring Regionals"
Spring BR's
Nationals
Worlds

So are there going to be two regionals in the same location? For instance, if nw regionals are in Salem at the first set of regionals, will the second set also be in Salem? Could they be?
