2 regionals rumor

I think it's too early to say whether it's a good idea or bad idea, personally.

For instance, we don't know their motivation yet. Was it because the Regionals were getting to be too big, forcing it to span over 2 days? If so, I don't see how making one in the Fall and one in the Spring is going to circumvent that for sure. (Someone may have rationalized that fewer people will show up because there are two now, but that doesn't sound like a strong argument by itself.)

On the other hand, perhaps the K value will change too. Maybe the purpose of a "Regional" will slightly change. Just don't know yet. I'm hoping there is a larger reason.

Not to mention, none of this has been 100% confirmed. Everyone is freaking out over nothing at this point. Wait until the official stuff is announced first, instead of stirring the rumor mill.

10 regionals in the past, 10 regionals now
but 5 in autumn and 5 in spring time.

It could be 5-5 or 7-7 or 5-8, I have no clue how many Regionals were done in the past since we don't have them outside NA.

Correction. You outlined everything you know in a previous post. I know there are plenty of folks around with more information, who need to wait for official announcements before everything gets to come out ^_-

So are there going to be two regionals in the same location? For instance, if nw regionals are in Salem at the first set of regionals, will the second set also be in Salem? Could they be?

From what i get, no. I say this because the So Cal regional is just in the Fall according to the PTO's Website, so It makes sense it'll be 5 and 5 in the US

I don't think it can possibly be that they did it to decrease attendance, because if the purpose is "prize" is actually important (World Invites, K32, Something good for ratings, etc.) then all the competitive players that are able will definitely go to two, therefore increasing attendance. I just don't see the logic here.
