Meh, it's Wednesday, and I'm bored. I think that at least 12 of the Regionals are in the system right now, and (for the purposes of this rough analysis) I'm assuming they're correct. Let's see what the numb3rs have to say about this. These are ordered by percentage increase, not by raw attendance.

Code:
[B]Regional Championship Jr / Sr / Ma = Total (Last Year) (% Difference)[/B]
North East 44 / 54 / 130 = 228 (35/41/68 = 145) (25.71 / 31.7 / 91.18 = [B]57.24[/B])
Southern California 36 / 47 / 158 = 241 (40/43/52 = 155) (-10 / 9.3 / 203.8 = [B]55.5[/B])
North West 100 / 85 / 179 = 364 (58/62/116 = 236) (72.41 / 37.10 / 54.31 = [B]54.23[/B])
Mid-Atlantic 29 / 44 / 119 = 192 (25/42/66 = 133) (16 / 4.8 / 80.3 = [B]44.4[/B])
Great Lakes 46 / 55 / 109 = 210 (36/33/85 = 154) (27.78 / 66.67 / 28.24 = [B]36.36[/B])
Midwest 39 / 53 / 89 = 181 (31/33/70 = 134) (25.81 / 60.61 / 27.14 = [B]35.07[/B])
Florida 65 / 66 / 135 = 266 (62/50/85 = 197) (4.84 / 32.0 / 58.82 = [B]35.03[/B])
West Canada 31 / 28 / 62 = 121 (31/31/29 = 91) (0.00 / -9.68 / 113.8 = [B]32.97[/B])
East Canada 37 / 40 / 76 = 153 (26/43/51 = 120) (42.3 / -6.98 / 49.02 = [B]27.5[/B])
Southern Plains 121 / 96 / 159 = 376 (121/75/106 = 302) (0.00 / 28.00 / 50.00 = [B]24.50[/B])
Mississippi Valley 71 / 65 / 145 = 281 (75/62/89 = 226) (-5.33 / 4.84 / 62.92 = [B]24.34[/B])
New England 38 / 47 / 94 = 179 (45/32/69 = 146) (-15.56 / 46.88 / 36.23 = [B]22.60[/B])
Northern California 24 / 29 / 74 = 127 (33/25/59 = 117) (-27.27 / 16.0 / 25.4 = [B]8.55[/B])
South East 25 / 36 / 73 = 134 (29/30/71 = 130) (-13.79 / 20.0 / 2.82 = [B]3.08[/B])
Mountain West 24 / 36 / 65 = 125 (23/48/62 = 133) (4.35 / -25.0 / 4.83 = [B]-6.02[/B])

TOTAL:
665 / 690 / 1390 = 2745
(605 / 565 / 960 = 2130)
(9.91 / 22.12 / 44.79 = 28.87)

OK, not quite as big of a difference as I was expecting given the insane States numbers, but roughly 30% growth is still impressive, as is that number 2745, which is likely to push 3000 when Long Beach and Virginia put their numbers on the OP website.

First off, some massive (preliminary) congratulations are in order for the following Regionals.

North East for having the largest overall percentage increase compared to last year.
West Canada for having the largest percentage increase in the Masters age division.
Great Lakes for having the largest percentage increase in the Seniors age division.
North West for having the largest percentage increase in the Juniors age division.
North West again for having the largest raw increase in total attendance (the increase) was larger than 3 separate Regionals).
North West again for having the largest raw increase in the Masters age division (the increase being larger than the Masters division of one Regionals)
North West again for having the largest raw increase in the Seniors age division.
North West again for having the largest raw increase in the Juniors age division (the increase being larger than the Juniors division of 7 Regionals).

And, finally, a HUGE set of congratulations towards everybody who Organized, Judged, Staffed, and otherwise helped out at all of the Regionals here. Without all of your help and dedication, none of this would even be possible. Thank you, and please continue doing what you're doing to help the game!

Man, I didn't realize the top 4 were the same top 4 as last year!

The numbers keep increasing, but we appear to be slotted in our spots...although BDS and gang really pulled away this year to #2, and it only cost them THEIR HAIR BWHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

SoCal hasn't been uploaded yet, so I don't really know where it sits on the radar. Going by 'mom's numbers, it's forth on the list, in the same order as last year. But, I'm running this chart using the POP numbers, and neither SoCal nor Mid-Atlantic have uploaded their results yet.

Ryan: The SE you have in the chart was the NC regional last year. This year, PUI added a regional in GA (which you call the SE). Jeff ran that regional and the one in VA this year. Based on his numbers, we went up for attendance. I admit, the pool of players we drew may be somewhat different, but they are better. We had 190 or so total vs 130 last yr. +60 is nice.

Keith

PS The Reg Jeff ran this yr is the one you mark as Mid Atl.

I really like the sound of these. It was worth the shave!

Huh. There were the same number of Regionals last year as there were this year. I organized them by approximate area of coverage. Maryland and Virginia are in roughly the same area, so I lumped them together. North Carolina and Georgia may not be in the exact same area, but they were the closest out of the ones that I could find. In terms of the player base, the one in Virginia this year most closely matches with the one in Maryland last year, unless my geography is completely off.

Maybe that was a bad idea, I'm not completely certain. But, if Maryland didn't get the Regional, then the one that would most closely match with it is Virginia. Of course, Virginia also matches closely with North Carolina, but then Georgia doesn't really match with anything from last year.

I had my labels up for a couple of weeks before posting this, and nobody complained about the matches I made. I assumed that meant they were roughly correct.

^Well, the thread DID say attendence totals. I didnt look until Reg's were held. There wouldn't be any results until then

Not discounting what you have done at all Ryan. I simply pointed out who ran what and where last yr and this yr. In your situation, you have the SE going down by a few ppl over last yr. Considering most of the players from the SE followed Jeff north to VA shows the growth from that area. Last yr, GA didnt have a Reg. The GA players had to choose to go very south into FL or into NC for SE or to Memphis for the Miss Valley one (that shifted back to St Louis). MD/VA had the Mid Atl. I guess you could say the SE shifted to GA, but not with the same PTO. I hope you get what I mean. I guess I am looking at it from who ran what last yr and not a label of the area.

Either way, the numbers keep going up in all age groups. That is GREAT!! Nice job with the stats.

Numbers are just that Keith, numbers.

Attendance is way up.

The game is strong.

Ryan...how do you have SOCAL as 4th? Are you missing Orlando, Florida?
