yeah, you know i have been playing magic for a few years now, and i am still in awe and wonder when I scroll through my 15 card boosters, and i just get so depressed when i saunter through my nine card Pokémon booster packs, trying desperately to make the pack seem to last just a little bit longer.
I would gladly give up the RH's for at least another card in the pack. although, i did get three rares in a pack once...
...sigh...seriously, though, i think it is kind of embarassing having to fork over money for just nine cards. I imagine the drafting camp of players would greatly benefit from an increased (or restored) amount of cards in a pack. And i think since we are indeed getting less bang for our buck (no dots to speak of!) we should be able to bargain out another card in the pack.
Hey, look at that: no RH +1 card, no dots +1 card; we seem to have an 11 card pack on our hands. I would like to see at least an 11 card pack. Magic just dominates because it has a face. Pokémon is more distant. Its card site is not frequently updated to give a face to its company. Magic.com is updated daily, giving Q/A opportunities, and showing that it cares about its customers, daily. Pokémon just sits from afar, watching its sales charts and if it weren't for a few updates every now and then, they'd be as cold as the YGO site, in my opinion.
So, if they could please show they are better than YGO's coldness and apartness, show that they can run with Magic, show they are looking out for their customers.
11 cards. It can't cost that much to print two more cards, right? I would even settle for maybe 10 set cards and a basic energy. Please. Show you are looking out for us, maybe 10 cards if you simply must hold back. Please.
If you can brag, "Yeah, my card game gives me over 10 cards in a booster, what's yours give? Nine? Tsk, tsk." Then you know you've got some loyal fans and customers. We need some arguing ground, Nintendo. We need to show something obvious that we can one-up at least another TCG out there. We need to be able to show that we have a real connection to our card game(s).
I can safely say that Magic's looking out for me. But I'd studder and flee if asked to make that same statement about Pokémon.
