When you are posting in a "What won" thread, you aren't supposed to use Nicknames anyways.Personally I dont care what you call your deck when you go to a tournament. If you want to call your Magmortar/Tylpholisan deck Blue Boy. More power to you, but when we go see the "what decks win" threads and someone was to Post Santa Fe BR Masters `1st place Blue Boy 2nd place Darkria X/Weaville. Well then that name is a problem as no one knows what Blue Boy means. If a deck is truely brand new and an imaginative name like Ambush catches on and everyone knows what is in Ambush,(Empoleon, Marrowack) then that is ok, but if last year someone was to put in a Absol EX into Ambush would they be able to then say that they invented a new deck called Sniper. And all of the sudden Sniper is a superior deck to Ambush, and Sniper will do so much better then Ambush at Worlds 2007? IF that was attempted last year it would have been laughed off as silly.
This GG/Plox debate is the same thing. There was an existing deck that everyone knew about and has agreeably been the most often played deck this year. No one person or Group could take credit for developing it as the combo was as obvious as the nose on your face. Then this established deck gets changed like almost every other deck when the new set of Great Encounters is released after Citys is over. Then someone takes the existing G&G deck list and adds a few new cards from the new set, and declares that a brand new deck has been born. When it is the exact same deck as before just with some new techs in it from the new set (I am still surprised that they have not taken credit for including Premier ball in POLX as well)
They may wish to believe with all of their heart, that their PLOX deck that they used in States/Regionals is completely different from the G&G deck that they used in Citys. But if you compare the deck lists they will still be 90% the same. Both set list still feature Gardevoir/GardevoirX and Gallade. And the entire rest of the list are techs to supprt thoes Pokes. they are not new and seperate decks. The G&G I used in December, was not the list I used in March, and not the one that I use today. But I have not created an uniqe deck each time, just tweaked it a bit when new cards are released. Some tweaks work and stay some tweaks dont and go away. But the deck list changed with time not the deck itself. And as the G&G deck name while not all that creative, was the established deck name in use by the pokemon community. One group of people should not expect to be able to arbitarilly change it to something that they think is better months after the fact.
But yeah, thanks for the 'power' to me. I'll definitely call Magz Blue Boy from now on.
