Close, but no cigar. Jordan/Curran H. FTW. Elissa's in there too, and she's got a regional and t8 at worlds under her belt. Jordan's got multiple regionals, and Curran, well, he ran the table a year or so ago.

dont forget the Hatchel brothers from VA, they consistently finish 1,2 in competition, and now they are in the same age group it will cause even more trouble

By consistantly, do you mean they've done it once so far this year? ;/

Nick and Rory are good, but the Nances are world-class (literally).

I nominate myself as the best writer, as well as all of my articles on the Pokeschool except my Mewtrick article for the Best Article and Most Helpful Article awards.

They aren't written for the established competitive player. They're written for the newer players looking to become competitive. Audience is always something to consider when reading an article, remember that, kid.

Well then why are you nominating yourself for best writer if your not writing for all audiences. A piece for competitive playing is more prestigous than writing an article to teach people how to play correctly, anyone can do that, old fart.

Oh, you think so, do you?

Actually, I think that what I'm doing is the hardest part of writing. You see, the basics of the game do not need explaining, because they're easily obtainable from many sources. The higher end gameplay isn't worth writing about because it already has so much support behind it. It's trying to get beginner to intermediate players to compete with the advanced and elite players that's almost impossible. The reason is that these players are generally incredibly resistant to constructive criticism about their decks and deckbuilding strategies. The hardest part about writing my articles is trying to compromise the higher order strategy ideas with more basic forms of strategy. This is the reason that many of my decks appear in their most basic forms, without a whole lot of TecH, and without a whole lot of secondary strategies like most decks today have. My deck articles are just an overview of what I believe should be in a specific deck, and then give thoughts as to how the deck could potentially be better.

Is that why they are on that absolutely annoying site, with all their pop up adds and flashing lights? A site that apparently has no viewer-ship, judging from the amount of comments on the articles. Could your articles cut it up here in the big dog world on the Gym?

And no you can't say "except my MewTric article."

It counts, and it sheds light on the rest the dreck.

The previous sentence was just because you nominated yourself after having put out such a piece.

This may be the wrong year, but someone wrote a VERY good article on ZRE, explaining every nuance in great detail.

That article set the standard as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah but in hte tourneys they for the most part go undefeated, unless they have to play each other, i didnt say they were better or worse, i said you cant forget.

Best Article:

BUDGET MEGANIUM SERIES FTW!!!!

But, seriously, this isn't a bad idea to have a Best Of Awards, accept nominations and then have the set voted on by either 'Gym members or a respected populous of players. I think the best set of catagories would include:

Best Player (Overall)
Best Player Under 15
Best Player (US)
Best Player (International)
Best Player (Japan)?
Top Deck

Best Single Article
Best Article (series)
Best Journalist(s)
Best Deck Analysis
Best Tournament Report

Top News Report
Most Disappointing Developement
Top Mod?

I think this set of 14 more ro less encompasses everything. We could start a separate nomination topic and work on things from there. This topic has kind of turned into a comedy war and if something serious would take place in here, few would be able to find it 5 pages in. Anyone for taking this project seriously? If there's at least four others, I'll start another topic so we can hash this out in a more formal manner.
