Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Big news on 1/8/13 - Pokemon X and Y

I wonder how the battle system will configure this feature of being stronger when your Pokemon likes you more through a "bonding" manner.

I hope it only effects the story mode/in game battles- this will really throw off the battle mechanics as it is in the competitive scene.

Unless I read the article incorrectly, looks as if we might need to rethink how the competitve scene will have this added feature since most of us do not "bond" with a Pokemon after breeding it for battles. Breed, hatch, EV, level it to 50 asap- battle ready. Not much for "bonding" time ................

I think bonding is a good idea and make the game seem real. Although I wonder how it works with a traded Pokemon and stuff. It really could give an opponent an unfair advantage.

Yes, I'm a bit curious about this as well. What happens if you have a strong bond with one pokemon by leveling it up, etc and then you want to try to grow a bond with a newly hatched pokemon ... does the original one lose it's bond with you as you work on the next one?

But... But... X and Y aren't colours!

Just noticed this post. Not very observant am I?

To be honest, diamond and pearl aren't really colours either though. I suppose an argument could be proposed for emerald though.
