Rares start at .05 each

Reverse holos at .10 each

Holos at .25 each.

Better cards (Charizards and the like) will get better prices.

What about gold letter cards? Cards that are normally holo-rare, but you have an RH version of that normally holo card?

Do foil league Energy(the kind you get for doing the challenge at the bottom of the scorecard) count as reverse holos or holos?

Experience with the dealer:

overall, I wouldn't recommend taking this dealer up on this offer again unless you have no other option. The two people manning the tables seemed completely unprepared for the offer. They came with no card boxes to pack the cards, so they either took the tins/boxes you brought or said "no deal." The estimation process of 100-card stacks was very sloppy. It was basically the guy underestimating the amount of cards in a box so unless you know the amount of cards you were selling, the deal you were told was not going to be upheld. The two at the booth appeared irritated and, on two occasions, one of them even attempted to fight with me, as well as others, when presented with "too few" cards to sell back. They wanted to buy in sets of 1000, not in the lower hundreds. Sorry, next time mention a minimum quantity.

One of my 11-year-old league players writes this:
i brought 8,000 cards for the dealer and guess what, THIS IS A MAJOR COMPLAINT. i gave him about 8000 commons/uncommons and 400 rares/holos. he gave me 40 dollars. well my friend gave the cards while i was playing so he came to me with 40$. i went to complain. i went to him and told him to count my cards again. hes starts cursing like the f words becuase my rubber bands kept snapping so everything kept felling apart. i estimated 140$ but he just gave me 15$ more. i was soo scraed i just ran away with the money.

dropping f-bombs in front of an 11-year-old? Completely unacceptable behavior. Scaring the kid away?
.02 x 8000 = 160
40 + 15 = 55
55 - 160 = 105 owed.

Looks like it definitely varied by person and who was doing the counting... I ditched all my obsolete holos, obsolete rares, and obsolete non-trainer reverse holos there, none of which had been pre-counted to be visible (I knew the count, just hadn't separated them into piles), and if you stick to the per card prices that are back on page 2 of this thread (page 1?), I should have gotten $214 exclusive of the Pokemon-ex (again, all obsolete) that I had. The guy there offered me $325.

I do agree that for the 2 minutes I was at the booth, the guy did seem rather... I dunno, uptight? Just the way the one end of the booth was all stacked up, they certainly did seem completely unprepared for what was coming.

My thanks to Meganium45 for posting this and to the Gym for allowing it. Without this post, I probably wouldn't have known to bring all my son's unused cards for sale. My son racked up $44.00 in sending cash from them, which meant I saved $44.00. He was very happy. The dealer gave us the price offered and a little more on the rares/holos we had.

Mystery Thing put it correctly. They seemed uptight for lack of a better word. Maybe they were overwhelmed or business wasn't good.

Thanks again,

Your right, they were a little overwhelmed & IMO, they brought wayyyyy to much stuff! I guess he tries to have everything available to sell as opposed to not enough stuff???

Never the less, I got a good deal so Im happy...

i didnt-_-. i got 100$ less than i was supposed too. im never giving my cards to them again. maybe another dealer if they acually dont curse and gives a fair price.

Sorry you had such a bad experience lil man! But this is where you will learn to make the deals on your own & not let others do it for you...hopefully! If they would have done that to my kids, I would have said NO DEAL! Its your cards, you seal the deals! Just some advice for next time! If you would have took them yourself, you would still have the oppertunity to go elsewhere to get a better deal!
Better luck next time! :thumb:

my bag that carried the cards were like 50 pounds so i could barely even carry it. every 5 steps i would have to stop to rest. every 100 steps i would faint. i mean its all right i didnt get a good deal. i gave the dealer just crap commons/uncommons and non-modified rares and holos. some modified. thanks for the advice. i couldnt do it myself becuase i was in teh tournament and right after the tournamenet we had to go. top cut so important. still 55$. would have been 100$more...... :frown:

OMG...You should have either visited the Dealers room 1st, or stashed the bag away until you had time goofball! I wouldnt let my kids haul that heavy of a bag around, thats sooooo not good for your back!

I know its a little disapointing. By the way, when did he actually take the cards to sell them? Like what day & time of day?

LOL...Thats just what I thought! The worst time to be selling anything to a dealer inside the dealers room! Its always best to sell 1st thing! The end of a con that big has many worries ahead of them! Like packing everything back up that didnt sell...For them, that was A LOT!
So ya, I could see it happening the way you said it did...but still not excusable!

I thought they seemed quite short and rude myself...and this was on Friday.

I was placing my commons and RHs, boxed and bundled in 100s, on the counter and explaining how many I had of each when the dealer cut me off "where are your holos and exs?" I pulled out my extras and passed them over. He gave them a cursory look and said "$70 for everything. Take it or leave it."

I had about $45 worth of bundled cards (at the posted price) and probably $70 in holos/exs, but I decided it just wasn't worth the trouble. I'll never sell to OR BUY FROM them again, and I'll certainly be encouraging others not to do the same.

I was one of the first ones that went over to him on Thursday, and then later on, I took my boyfriend's cards over as well. I got 144 for everything, and he got 102. I had 3800 commons and uncommons, 300 RH cards, and 106 holos. It was roughly what I was expecting for it. But they were pretty rude overall. The guy seemed angry any time any of us would walk over in his direction.

Not the warmest and fluffiest people at times....

Glad to see a LOT of dealers buying Pokemon by the end of the show!

I had no problems with them. It was actually very quick and easy. Went in with my commons and revs on Thursday and just told them the count (a few thousand) and got the money. Later on Saturday went back with Lv.Xs and higher cards and made a deal quick and went on.

There were a lot of people there and I know they were moving from person to person pretty fast, but neither of them were mean while I was there. That was my experience at least.

I had a talk with the guy on Wednesday when we got in, and he hadnt had any sleep, and probably didn't into Thursday, so catching up on that sleep missed would have been hard, and thus probably caused his "uptight"ness that everyone was sensing.

Anyways, I made a $177, I didnt have and was glad that he was buying!
