California State Championship!!- March 6 UPDATED

Maybe I'll go after I get the event start time changed to a later time, and that shouldn't be that difficult since PT&E changed ours to a later time for SoCal players. Registration at 9 is way too early for me but registration at 12 sounds good.

I don't _think_ so, considering that CA's state championship is on a SUNDAY, and Monday is a school/work day for people....

If you have an issue with this, please take it up with PT&E rather than trying to stir up the board...:rolleyes:

I think the bigger issue is that California will probably have 4 times as many people as Nevada, so it has to start earlier. Trust me, Karl isn't showing favoritism. And, as PokeMom said, its on a Sunday so we need to get it started and get it over as early as possible.

And as for all of you nay-sayers...if you want the tournament to start on-time then bring your decklists, neatly printed, with legal cards and the right numbers.

And for goodness sake don't show up 5 minutes before registration ends!!!!! :mad:

I, for one don't mind that registration starts at 9 am. At least maybe everyone will get out of there by 8. Anyway, i would still like to see some info regarding the style of the tournament, like how it should be top 16 with matchplay, at least in the 15+. I emailed Karl (PTO obv) i believe almost 2 weeks ago, and still nothing. I am not complaining or anything, but states is in 3 weeks and i just hope everyone is going to be prepared, no one wants to see anyone get screwed.

Just wanted to say that I added a link to the main listing for the Decklist. PLEASE fill it our ahead of time and double check what you write. It will really help the event start earlier!

The players' readiness will decide what time the event starts. Let's hope that everyone who comes to this forum and who is going fills out a deck list and comes early so poor Nicole doesn't have to rip out her hair. :)
 
Well, I'm not trying to sound greedy or unapreciative, but I truly do believe it is in the best interest of the tournament organiziers to ensure a well deserved state champion, that this tournament have a top 16 cut instead of the slated top 8. With the largest attendance of ANY state championship projected, I do believe that tie breakers will be a major factor in deciding who makes the play off or not. I really do not think the most prestigous state championship should be a crap shoot. Anybody agree?

I'm sure if the numbers dictate, Karl will make it a top 16 cut. He's pretty fair when it comes to the players. I can double check if you like though.
 
I was just wondering when you were going to post the preregistration link. It's getting pretty close to the time of the tourney.
