Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

California State Championship!!- March 6 UPDATED

Starting on schedule and on time

Hello again,

This is a reiteration and clarification of my earlier post with regards to showing up early and getting started on time. In order to accomplish the latter (starting on time), here is the morning time schedule:

8:00 am -- TO onsite for setup

8:30 am -- Judges arrive to finish setup and get prepared for registration to open

8:30 am -- Reg. slips will be available for players to start filling out, blank decklists also.

9:00 am -- Registration opens  (everyone will need to have a completed reg. slip [this gets you into the computer], and a finished decklist [once you turn it in, we will not return it--the judges will be checking decklists for errors and correcting as necessary--we do not have time to search for and locate 1 decklist out of 100+, sorry. So make sure it is 100% correct and final before presenting it at registration.])

9:50 am -- Registration for Round 1 closes. This is the cutoff for getting into Round 1 of CA States--all players who present their forms at registration at 9:51 am or later will not make it into Round 1 pairings--they may still enter the tournament, however, they will begin during Round 2 and have a Round 1 loss. Note: There always needs to be a deadline for any start time, and in order to make the start time on schedule the deadline needs to be final--this is not meant as punishment and we are not picking on the players, etc.--we want, as well as most players and parents, to get started on time so we can end at a reasonable hour. What this means to any players arriving after 9:50 am is that we will not delay the Round 1 pairings and start time just for them.

9:55 am -- Pairings for Round 1 are posted

10:00 am -- Players meeting (5 minute intro) and Round 1 begins :thumb:

Further time blocks will be announced as the tournament progresses.

*One last note, which should encourage early attendance, we have limited supplies of State pins. These will be given first come, first served when registration opens. After the pins are gone, a Series 1 POP pack will be substituted--thus everyone will get something.

Remember decklists are downloadable at www.ptegames.com.

See you all on Sunday morning.

I caaaaaaan't wait! Probably won't win, probably won't come in top eight, probably will lose more than I will win, but I can't wait to see everyone I haven't seen in a while and have a fun time! (GB tourny - yay!!!!)

I have a question. Everytime I go to that place, it is like a scavenger hunt to find where the room is since it is usually different. (I get lost very, very easily) Which room will we be playing in and where can I find it? Is it the one we played in for the Rocket Pre-release or the one we played in for the CC last year?

Updates on website; Room at hotel; POP packs and CC winners

Yet another post in the never ending quest to keep everyone up-to-date:

The PT&E website has been updated with detailed start times, the exact meeting room at the hotel, prize disclaimers, and side events.

For those coming, and especially for Water Pokemon Master  , we are in the Garden 1 + 2 Rooms, just ask the hotel staff for directions.

All players at CA States will receive 2 POP packs at registration, in addition to the previously mentioned State pin/POP pack.

For all California City Championship winners out there: winners of CCs in that particular State who wear their medals will receive an additional five POP packs at registration. Only California CC winners may collect at the CA States. Players who won multiple CCs in a State still only get five extra packs. Please wear your medals to collect your prize.

That's all for now/today/maybe...

*chuckles* Maybe I should still wear my medal from Rhode Island, even if it doesn't mean anything out here... To all the people needing cards from deoxys and such, I've opened 8 boxes of the set x_X so I probably have whatever you need from it by the time the event rolls around. Tall guy, blue hat with horse on it. I think I have a spare rare candy or two floating around somewhere as well, haven't gotten all my cards out of storage boxes yet ^^;

Will try to be down there bright and early for practice games. =)

Wow! I cannot wait for state. Of course I won’t be going in thinking that I will win, because there are a lot more far better players out there than me. I have only started playing Pokemon for roughly a year; so I don’t consider my self a pro or an expert. However, I have been to most prereleases, city championships, 4 state championships and the world tournament to know that some of the best players in world I've ever seen reside here in California. You can choose to disregard my opinion but I guarantee you that the California State Championship will be no “walk in the park.”
City Championship medals, winner prerelease pins, and rankings mean nothing compared to California's state championship. State will be harder that anything some of you can imagine. Basically this will either make or break you. My point is just to be ready.

Ps. I believe that Rush Down has the best chance of winning state, go get'em tiger! :thumb:
