Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

California State Championship!!- March 6 UPDATED

Hey people, I'm really bored. So I decide to post here and just wanted to say that the tourny is just around the corner. It goin to start in 7 hours.........YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I am so tired, but I'll post anyways. I had a really great time and really enjoyed coming to this tourny, since it will probably be my last until summer time. I want to thank all the judges and staff for having it run on time, and for making it enjoyable for everyone. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

And Hung, you need to get on AIM soon. You left before me and Mike could give you back the cards we borrowed from you for our decks. :)

LOL, awsome deck shedinja guy (AKA ???). So how many shedinjas died during the whole turney? What is the total count of shedinja's that your opponent can KO in one game? Nice job!

Making the cut was a bit of a crap shoot for the 5-2 players, which kinda screwed me over. GJ to whoever won, at least the trophy stays home. God, Nevada got KILLED.

1st Jake M. (Team L.A.)
2nd Chung L. (Team L.A.)
3rd Kevin T. (S.D.) (edit: sorry my bad, i was too tired remember which kevin :))
4th Jerry D. (Me with Team L.A.)

So close

Well, I'm happy with getting T8 myself (although having to face a second game against shedinja and try to beat it in under 15 minutes...never again! I'll be happy if I never see another one of those things ^^; Great deck though..) My deck just didn't want to work with me later on (you can ask Kevin, he was the one who beat me) but thats what it normally does in gigantic tournamnets.

Everything was really really well run, and for my first event over here instead of Massachusetts, I was really impressed with both how well it was run, and the calibur of player over here. Every battle was tough! Now that I have more time to tweak out my deck for regionals, maybe I can take a shot at the winners circle next time. =)

Thanks to everyone for a great time~!

Flare

What decks did the winners play? I know there was Zapdos by Chung, but what were the others?

CA States numbers

Hi all,

Here are the final CA States numbers:

-- 163 total players --

<=10: 21 (winner: Sheldon C.)
11-14: 47 (winner: Jonathan McB.)
15+: 95 (winner: Jacob M.)

The event staff were onsite at 8 am and the 15+ finals ended at 10:15 pm -- a long, but rewarding day.

In addition the the main age-podded tournaments, we ran three 8-player booster drafts and one 8-player Theme Deck Challenge.

Everyone had a great time -- the place was rocking!

Many thanks go out to the head judge, Mark de la Torre; the floor judges, Stephanie de la Torre, Doreen Kamada-Fujii, and Chris Boutcher; side event judge Kim Cary; and last, but certainly not least, scorekeeper, Nicole Weiler. These are the volunteers that made CA States so awesome!

Thank you players for showing up, playing well, having a good time, and being great sportsmen.

Cheers.

Cheers.

I think your talking about me who beat you in the top8. If it is then, I'm Chung L. and you were just having bad luck against me. Also I should of won in the second match of top8 but I mess up and I almost lost the 3rd match because of my stupid little mistake.

And thanks to you too, Karl, for hosting such a great event!!

Talk about a Pokemon hangover...I came home from volunteering this morning and slept for 3 more hours!

Congrats Jacob, Jonathan, and Sheldon! I hope players from other states can understand that all of you had to win almost all of your battles to make it into the finals. Crazy day!

See everyone, who is going , in Nevada!

What a minute... kirbypostarhero has it all wrong... prizeless, ok that's ok... BUT we christened that deck:

The WKM Deck... or OWAU (Oniel, where ARE U????) =P

It's only lost 3 times... amazing... props LEO for building the POKEMON stasis deck >_< , it figures...

Pix coming up later, what a bizarre day... sunday was a lot of fun...

Sorry Nick for disappearing... had to go hide to make some phone calls... LONG phone calls...
