Yea but it really does not make any sense, What is my familys spending counting as, collectors or players? I have collected Pokemon cards ever since base set first came out. I try to catch one of every English card ever made. Now I realize that I will never have everything (World Championship trainers for instance I will never have) but I do the very best I can. I buy every alt card and gift box promos that come out. I purchase all of the tins and go to Pokemon League for the promos that they have there. I attened prereales to get the prelease promos and Cities/States regionals (and one Nationals) to the the cards offered there. I also buy the world championship decks and Theme decks so I can get the special cards there. And I try to collect one of every card in each set both regular and reverse holo versions.
But durring this same time me and my family have particapted in Pokemon Organized play ever year but for one from the very first year on. (We took 2003 off while my wife was pregnant with our daughter) So I also buy cards to build decks and compete with them.
So how our the dollars that my family spends counted? When I purchase a theme decks and some booster packs durring leage from the Hobby store that hosts our Pokemon league is that player dollars?
And when I pick up a gift box with an HootHoot promo and a booster pack are thoes dollars counted a collector spending?
I dont think it is possible to say that such and such spending is by collectors and such and such other spending is by players. I also do not think they count all of the mone ythat is spent by players at preresleases. That is quite a bit of real players spending that is not counted in this, but it reaaly shoud be included. Each prerelaese my family is spending $150.00 to $300.00 depending on how many events we attened in the two weekends of the prerelease. That money really adds up and should be counted.
