Except, ykno, DCE does that about ten times better. Neither Upper nor DCE help decks like...say, Metagross UL (Just a quick example), or in fact any deck with 2 specific energy cost.

2 pages later and people are still crying for their claydolz back -_-'

I guess I'm just buggin' for all the people that seem like they aren't THINKING before posting...(wishful thinking aside).

I cannot see them reprinting anything outside of the HGSS arc. Why? It makes no sense. But nothing. If this is a HGSS set, and it's a filler then odds are we'll be seeing reprints like collector, communication and probably something like oak's new theory clotted together with a mesh of old primes and legends. I'm not saying they aren't making us new legends/primes, but I really find it hard to believe.

I'm also not ruling out the possibilities of new cards in general OR that this by some twisted stroke of odd is our first b&w set (which makes about as much sense as if POP reprinted DP Noir -_-')

Please god no Claydol, areyou guys NUTS?

Think of how many decks would just die in a pit due to Claydol becoming reprinted, and think of how badly Genplume gets affected, the whole metagame to be in fact. More donks, more "Drag off Claydol", ad more teeth clnching. I for one, do NOT want that monstrocity in our metagame ever again. Roseannes? No way. I really don't want to see her either.

are you a troll? Claydol made decks possible - it didn't (and wouldn't) "destroy" decks (it hurts genplume, but remember there would still be no unown g). Just because it can be Dragged Off it would be bad for the game? And how does it increase donks in any way? attention seeker much?

Claydol won't be reprinted almost certainly, but I am having trouble thinking about what WILL be reprinted. at any rate, if it DOES, it will be good for the game, not bad.

Boost would be nice.

Scramble I've always thought was terribly overpowered. If it were 2 Rainbow instead of 3, it'd be more balanced.

It's a DOUBLE RAINBOW!!! IT'S STARTING TO EVEN LOOK LIKE A TRIPLE RAINBOW.

Anyway, back on topic, I would like to see some interesting primes come out of this set. Something like a Cloyster Prime, Hypno Prime, DRAGONITE Prime, and other really cool cards.

I wish there would some cool little miniset put in there too that include Ashes Pokemon from the Arceus Movie, and to put a twist on it Include Red's Pokemon too. (They wouldn't be like SP necessarily but more or less just good cards that are Red's Pokemon that don't have an engine built in for them, or the engine is the combination of the cards. Like Red's Lapras has a Poke-Power that is something like: Once during your turn, you may draw two cards from the top of your deck if you have Red's Snorlax in play. Things like that)

You know...I just realized that this set might just prove P!P's intention to rotate 4 sets out every year to start every new season with 9 sets. Think about it....
Next rotation would become RR on
Then we'll get UL on
The set after this will (99% sure) be BW. If they rotate out UL, UD, TR and Sillyfillerset...we finally will end up with BW-On.

...perhaps there ARE long-term planners working at P!P.

i really like cloyster, i don't care if it's unplayable it'd still be cool to have cloyster prime.(but playability would be a sweet bonus:lol:)

I know right? The cards I listed don't need to be super playable, I just think they would be awesome to have. Make them like Donphan, yeah it's playable, holds it own, but not really the best.

You're absolutely right. We have never had important cards like Primes or EX's that Japan didn't get until later. Nope. Never.

Well, not that I expect Claydol coming back, but if you really wanted to grasp at straws/split hairs or whatever, Steven Stone was in HGSS. He owns a Claydol. Just saying.

I feel like with the pickle PCI is probably in with impending new rules and possible mid season rotation, and the fact that they were sure to know about what was coming long before we did, they won't reprint anything of significance from further back than HGSS.

Looking at it rationally they have 3 choices, only one of which makes any real sense:

1. Rules change and no rotation. This would be a virtual calamity to the game. I.M.O. this wouldn't happen.

2. "No" rules change and no rotation. No is in quotes because there would have to be a partial rules change at least because of new mechanics and card that would undergo major errata. I think this would lead to more problems than it would fix and would make the judge's jobs that much more difficult and make tournaments run longer, something which great leaps have been made over these last couple of seasons. This would be a leap backwards to those goals.

3. Follow Japan's lead and do exactly what they did. While some may be put out by this decision, it's the only logical choice to make. It's the only format which would mirror the improved overall game play Pokemon has so obviously been striving for and working toward.

None of those options leave the door open to reprinting broken, rotated staples like the Claydols and such so many keep pining for so don't get your hopes up.

I've figured it out. Since reading all the comments on this thread, I know what the secret rare card of the set will be: Steven's Claydol SP EX PRIME. It has 430 HP and the Poké-Power Massive Cosmic Power. The power says "Pick up your deck and put it into your hand. If your opponent Power Sprays this power, pick up your opponent's deck instead." It's going to be THE CARD that everyone has to have. America is totally going to get it first, too.

Actually, decisions about past promotional cards indicates that PCL does not inform TPCi about such changes as much as TPCi would like. Even Mike Liesik has hinted that they are caught surprised by PCL changes. TPCi was probably just as surprised at the same time as the rest of us when/if they read over the translations of the JPN website.

TPCi may have already been decided what would be in the set before the rules changes were made known.

You know what I'd love to see back? Nidoqueen δ or Pidgeot (FRLG). Will I? Nope.

That's actually Steven's Claydol SP ex (Prime) Luxray GL LvX LEGEND.

True. If they were blindsided it's a whole 'nother thing. That would have been a horrible thing to be in the dark on though.

We just got Mew Prime. I highly doubt any new Legends will be of anything that was released as a Prime. This means that the most we could get are Trio bird Legends, Regi trio Legends, or something like Heatran/Regigigas.
