Sadly I won't bank on that, considering that they do not want people who take them earlier leak the questions to others (if they only made one set of exam papers). Besides, I really don't think most high school teachers will take "going to Pokemon Nats" as a legitimate excuse to take exams early :rolleyes:

Anyways, the link for the Canadian Nats FAQ is up, and cue the potential moaning because the booster packs prize pool is now officially worse than Regionals (except for the 1st Place, which remain unchanged at 2 boxes where everyone else get their share halved).

Well actually for Jr.high i just said to my teacher that im going to Toronto during exams and that i need to do them early. So my mom had so sign some sheets so now im doing the exams early!
 
Idg why POP constantly cuts the booster support. I'm sure it costs them almost nothing to give them away, and this way people other than 1st/2nd actually get prizes that amount to anything. (I realize that 3rd/4th get invites). Anyway I guess it's not that big of a deal, just irks me a bit.

But yea, nats should be alright... and Sean if you need a deck please tell me soon instead of the night before =P. Or I'll just find what Terry's playing and build you a counter to it.. it won't beat any other decks but Terry's though =P. Happy Birthday Terry XD I already have an uxie for you as a gift! How nice of me =D
 
4th place doesn't even get a trophy.... so I am assuming they will be playing to decide 3rd and 4th then?


It is interesting how the game grows and they cut support, I am loving the DSi for top 4 though <3.

Wow I didn't even see 4th doesn't get a trophy. That makes no sense to give one away at Regionals and not here. I GUESS that's better than in 07 though when 4th got a trophy and no invite.

Dexter: they won't play for it, whoever is seeded higher in swiss will get it. They couldn't have 3rd/4th play an unrated match for it, and they stopped allowing 3rd/4th to play a rated match because of the detrimental ratings effect of getting 4th.

Na, I didn't think you'd agree to that either. I'm happy with the way things are at the moment. Sure, a person can wish for more, but that don't make it happen. The PTO's fought to keep the prize support to this level. I wasn't here as a PTO at the time, but I appreciate their hard work to convince POP at that time. I support the current state of affairs if it can be left at this level for the foreseeable future.
 
Considering in Nationals how if you are playing for 3rd and 4th you are both getting invites regardless of rating it would make sense to me to play for the trophy.

If you don't and 3rd and 4th have the same record then the position is decided by how well your opponents played throughout the day which you can't really control. Also With the fundraising going to 3rd place it might be best to have a 3rd and 4th play off for that reason as well.

lol, I'll give you much more notice on what I want to play this time.
Also, I WILL make it past top8 this time...
 
I have a picture of Nats that was sent to me that shows some boxes of wii at the event, so I am pretty sure they were given out.

Pls matt, build me a deck too!! That way you can be sure of building Sean one that beats me, not that if he sat down across from me with that Magikarp / Feebas secret deck (Whoops didn't want to let that one out of the bag for you) you've been talking about he wouldn't beat me silly owing to the Curse of Sean.

Actually I'm not making Oakville this weekend, my trip to Indo got bumped up a day so I'll be on a plane:frown: You can hold onto it for me and continue to train it. I'll expect it to know Supreme Blast by the time I get it back!
