Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Cipher/Snagem Threat (Set)

This is a set that features two evil organizations, Cipher and Snagem. These two operate in Orre. Inspired by these two sets, this set shares many of the same Trainer, Energy, and e-Reader mechanics, while featuring new e-Reader mechanics for Pokémon Colosseum. There is a lot of e-Reader data needed, so each and every card will have both an A version and a B version with different e-Reader data.

While these new e-Reader mechanics are very promising, unfortunately, these are the last a set I participate in will ever see. The e-Reader is dying, and having to put an end to e-Reader data is inevitable. Therefore, this is the final full set that will feature the famous e-Reader data. (There will be two additional promo sets where I'll work on e-Reader data, Enigma Island Promos Vol. 2 (which will include Enigma Island cards for the seven teams including Cipher and Snagem, among other cards) and a Sonic-themed promo set to be done at the conclusion of the Sonic Heroes Expansion.)

There are no Pokémon expectations for the teams, they're both labeled as "variety".

These Pokémon may use {D} Energy in their attacks.

The leader of Team Cipher is Evice. The leader of Team Snagem is Gonzap. Underlings in this set for the Cipher side (male unless noted) are Miror B., Dakim, Venus (female), Ein, and Nascour. Underlings in this set for the Snagem side are Agnol and Fein (both male). The Grunts in the Cipher organization are called Peons.

Cards that have only one type to the right are single-type, they are that type.
Cards that have two types to the right are dual-type, they are both of those types, not one or the other.
Cards that have an ability to its right have a Poké-BODY or Poké-POWER that bears the ability's name.

Cipher's Igglybuff, Cipher's Pichu, and Cipher's Tyrogue each have the Wizards Baby Rule, NOT the Nintendo Baby Evolution Poké-POWER. All such cards are done.

Yes, there are 3 Cipher's Lotad, 3 Cipher's Lombre, and 6 Cipher's Ludicolo in this expansion. You're not seeing multiple. It's because of Miror B.'s multitude of Ludicolo.

Don't ask about Cipher's Gorebyss, Cipher's Slowbro, Cipher's Hitmonlee, Cipher's Hitmonchan, Cipher's Lunatone, or Snagem's Ninjask. Nobody in the Cipher organization has a Gorebyss to match Ein's Huntail. Nobody in the Cipher organization has a Slowbro to match Evice's Slowking. Nobody in the Cipher organization has a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan to match Skrub's Hitmontop. Nobody in the Cipher organization has a Lunatone to match Dakim's Solrock. Nobody in the Snagem organization has a Ninjask to match Agnol's Shedinja. Because of that, you won't see Cipher's Gorebyss, Cipher's Slowbro, Cipher's Hitmonlee, Cipher's Hitmonchan, Cipher's Lunatone, or Snagem's Ninjask in this set, Cipher's Tyrogue can only evolve into Cipher's Hitmontop.

9 Pokémon-ex and 5 surprise cards are done.

The Berry Promo Set will also be coming to an end. The final two berries in that set will be the berries for these two teams.

e-Reader Data, Pokémon A-Versions:

Ruby/Sapphire/FireRed/LeafGreen/Colosseum: The e-Reader data for the Pokémon in this set allows you to catch the species portrayed at L5. Then, Evice or Gonzap (depending on the Trainer on the card) will enter the room and show you the <team>-Chine, where <team> is the Trainer on the card. The Pokémon you just captured will be put through the machine, and that Pokémon will learn one of three moves depending on how many of that team's leader you get on the slots. The first move listed is for zero or one of the leader, the second move is for two, and the third move is for three (i.e. if you got 3 Gonzaps on Snagem's Breloom, Breloom will learn the third move listed; if you got 1 Evice on Cipher's Lombre ({W}), Lombre will learn the move on the left; if you got 2 Gonzaps on Snagem's Nincada, Nincada will learn the move in the middle). The moves are underneath the Retreat Cost. Also, all Snagem Pokémon will hold a TM46, and all Cipher Pokémon hold TM30. You can only use each team's machine once per day. The data on these cards is native to all the versions, so you can use the e-Card room in R/S, Altering Cave in FR/LG, or a cave in the heights of Agate Village for Colosseum to get all of these. (In Colosseum, these Pokémon are non-Shadow, but Rui will let you catch them anyway.) This data only works for the A versions of the cards.

e-Reader Data, Pokémon B-Versions:

Scan in each and every single Cipher B card in the expansion into Colosseum to undertake a new mission. When the last card is snagged in, a Cipher Peon kidnaps Rui! Watch a TV and you'll find out Rui is being given out as a prize to anyone who can beat eight teams consecutively!

Make your way to Deep Colosseum and enter the Eight-Team Challenge. You must fight four battles to complete a team. You'll be rewarded, then you'll face the next team. Do this for all seven teams. Finally, you'll face three more trainers followed by a rematch with Deep King Agnol. Win that one and you'll win the Eight-Team Challenge and get Rui back. If you win, you can take the challenge again by rescanning the cards, but Rui won't be kidnapped subsequent times.

Team 1: First three battles are against Team Magma Grunts, two male, one female. Each of them have random Fire- and Ground-type Pokémon, all at L60. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Maxie, who has five Pokémon, all at L60. These Pokémon are: Mightyena, Camerupt, Crobat, Houndoom, and Magmar. The winners' reward is 10000 cash and a TM50.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played in Area 1 of Mt. Battle. Against Maxie, you hear the theme played when facing Maxie in Ruby/Sapphire.

Team 2: First three battles are against Team Aqua Grunts, two male, one female. Each of them have random Water- and Ice-type Pokémon, all at L60. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Archie, who has five Pokémon, all at L60. These Pokémon are: Mightyena, Sharpedo, Crobat, Octillery, and Jynx. The winners' reward is 12500 cash and a TM03.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played in Area 2 of Mt. Battle. Against Archie, you hear the theme played when facing the Regis in Ruby/Sapphire.

Team 3: First three battles are againt Team Flora Grunts, two male, one female. Each of them have random Grass-, Poison- and Bug-type Pokémon, all at L60. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Farlie, who has five Pokémon, all at L60. These Pokémon are: Mightyena, Cacturne, Crobat, Jumpluff, and Tangela. The winners' reward is 15000 cash and a TM09.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played in Area 4 of Mt. Battle. Against Farlie, you hear the theme played when facing the Elite Four in Ruby/Sapphire.

Team 4: First three battles are against Team Plasma Grunts, two female, one male. Each of them have random Electric- and Psychic-type Pokémon, all at L60. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Plasmae, who has five Pokémon, all at L60. These Pokémon are: Mightyena, Manectric, Crobat, Ampharos, and Electabuzz. The winners' reward is 17500 cash and a TM34.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played in Area 7 of Mt. Battle. Against Plasmae, you hear the theme played when facing Steven in Ruby/Sapphire.

Team 5: First three battles are against Team Rocket Grunts, one male, one female, and one random gender. Each of them have random Poison- and Ground-type Pokémon, all at L60. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Giovanni, who has five Pokémon, all at L60. These Pokémon are: Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Dugtrio, Rhydon, and Swalot. The winner's reward is 20000 cash and a TM04.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played in the Rocket Warehouse in FireRed/LeafGreen. Against Giovanni, you hear the Team Rocket theme from Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Team 6: First three battles are against Team Snagem members, all male. Each of them have random Pokémon, all at L61. The first grunt has two, the second grunt has three, and the third grunt has four. After that, you'll face Gonzap, who brings his Snagem Hideout team to Deep Colosseum. Win here and you get 22500 cash and a TM40.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played outside battle on Route 22 in FireRed/LeafGreen. Against Gonzap, you hear the theme played when facing Raikou/Entei/Suicune in Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Team 7: First three battles are against Team Cipher Peons, two female, one male. Each of them have random Pokémon, all at L62. The first peon has two, the second peon has three, and the third peon has four. After that, you'll face Evice, who brings his Realgam Tower team except Aggron to Deep Colosseum. Win here and you get 25000 cash and a TM39.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played outside battle on land at Resort Gorgeous in FireRed/LeafGreen. Against Evice, you hear the theme played when facing Evice in Colosseum.

Team 8: First three battles are against the new trainer type, Deep Dweller. Two female, one male. Each of them have random Pokémon, all at L63. The first Deep Dweller has two, the second one has three, and the third one has four. After that, you'll face Agnol, who keeps his Deep Colosseum team. Win here, you'll get 30000 cash, a TM08, and you'll free Rui.
The music that plays in the background for the first three trainers is the same as the theme played against a gym leader in Ruby/Sapphire. Against Agnol, you hear the theme played during a typical knockout challenge final in Colosseum.

Scan each and every Snagem B card into Colosseum. Team Snagem grunts will now flood Phenac, each carrying a L60 Smeargle and a shadow Pokémon. Here's the list of shadows:

Grunt 1: Charmeleon L30
Grunt 2: Ivysaur L30
Grunt 3: Wartortle L30
Grunt 4: Jynx L43
Grunt 5: Electabuzz L43
Grunt 6: Magmar L43
Grunt 7: Articuno L50
Grunt 8: Zapdos L50
Grunt 9: Moltres L50
Grunt 10: Mewtwo L70

Only by snagging all 10 will the Team Snagem grunts leave Phenac. You can only do this once.

gah! If I wanted to be a jerk, I'd say you ripped this off from my post in the create the evolution line, but A, I'm not a jerk, and B, your set doesnt involve my shadow Pokemon idea. Anyways, I find your mechanic of energy and trainers having multiple versions interesting! That's quite original! Anyways, I'll most likely do some energy later...
