I'm used to the new set already. No one here is crying about anything. I call it how I see it. Been playing with the cards for a while. Here are some key factors here.
- Zoroark hit's for 120 damage on a very easy requirement. just bench 5 dark Pokemon
- 'Good' dark decks don't run special dark because of lost remover/e hammer or very little. I played against them. Most good players stop playing unless the really need to. There are no ways to play around it. You can play around Jumpluff.
- Dark Claw is just a broken card. Much like Power Spray, giving the benefits to only 1 deck type.
- Darkrai is a new ex. No need to explain that...
And did you really just say catcher stall the deck. Did you read Darkrai ex's ability?
1. I'm a little shocked that someone is really viewing Zoroark (with Weavile and Darkrai I assume) to be a big threat of a deck. The deck has poor matchups against CMT, Darkrai, and fighting decks that it's not really worth worrying about all that much.
You have to fill your bench to begin hitting for the insane amounts of damage. Against something like Tornadus EX, Darkrai EX, etc. it doesn't matter if you're hitting them for 90 or 150. Either way you have to two shot them, while they will one shot you in most normal circumstances. The resources that go into streaming these big basic pokemon is a lot less compared to continually streaming a Stage 1 Pokemon, while maintaining a full bench to get the most damage out of its attack.
2. I don't think you know what a good dark deck is if you're still considering Zoroark to be a good deck...but not just that, a broken deck.
3. Dark Claw isn't broken. It's just enough to make dark Pokemon worth playing again. Eviolite, Donphan's ability, and Dragon Blade's Bouffalant's ability all counteract the effect of Dark Claw. There is a Heatmor from Noble Victory that discards tool cards, and a Weavile from Next Destinies that does more damage with its attack if the defending Pokemon has a tool attached.
Not to mention, there is Terrakion and Groudon EX, which counter the things that dark claw would be attached to fairly well.
4. Yes, you can catcher stall a Darkrai deck. If you catcher a benched Darkrai with no energy, a Sableye, a Smeargle, or anything without energy and a retreat cost that might be in their deck, you can force them to waste their attachment for the turn to remove that thing from the active spot instead of using that attachment on Darkrai.
