Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

DP-on | Decks after rotation.

2 Energys
Mespit - Free Retreat

I doubt AMU is that great myself, but pls, i've you have no idea, just don't post
And Mewtwo can be teched against

e:/ Even darthpika will not go to a tournament with AMU and giggle "hehe i've got amu so I win, no matter what" without thinking about potential counters (although he sounds like he would do that, I KNOW)
And Mewtwo as a counter is so obvious, if an amu player doesn't think about it, he should straight of quit the game

Yes, even though I like the deck, it doesn't mean I don't think about the posible counters for it, how to get around them, and the fact that there is a large amount of luck in the game.

Only a fool would go to a tourney and just expect to win.

I do wish the fact that I have an AMU deck would mean just going to tourneys and always winning them. ;)

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

R u serious? Kingdra will rip it limb from limb.

Sadly I agree. That is really to bad as Houndoom looks like a card that could have some potential if it wasn't for Kingdra.

My goodness,Kingdra already has admirers and it hasnt even been released in the US yet. I cant believe people are talking about this and not the ALL MIGHTY PLOX/GG for season. Now Im just confused.

Two words.

Format Change.

Its already been discussed that this decks BDIF will finally see a resign in players and such due to the deck losing critical supplies to the deck. DRE, Scramble, Windstorm (this one doesnt matter as much with Cess leaving), old techs like Dugtrio and such.

Gardelade will definitely be weakening upon the release of Legends Awakening, unless of course PUI pulls a smooth move and reprints DRE in POP8, which would not be cool.

Watch out for Magnezone. The instant fire stops dominating, this demon will find some nasty ways to bring pain to the format. Giving free retreat to anything then transferring that energy to a new attacker, as well as free paralysis? Makes Dialga MD a viable starter, and combo's excellently with Electivire MD. Lets not forget new Rotom to get that Metal energy back.

Add all this to a psychic resistance and high HP's and you have a potential heavy hitter right here.

Cess Crystal goes away and Zone drops Glaceon LX in one shot. The only thing to fear is Fire.

Electivire MD?

I think Magnezone will be BDIF, since it hurts Armaldo, shuts down Kingdra with Dialga MD as
starter (Kingdra has to have 4 cards to get t1, then 100 t1 is not possible.

Auto Paralyze, free retreat (Magnetize), just SO good.

AMU dies to Kingdra.

T1 Aqua Stream Buck's that's 70 right there!

Luxray can't keep up with kingdra.

Lanturn/Tentecruel/PURE CRAP is easily countered by Energy Switch.

Magmortar dosen't see play again.

Glaceon and Eevee lutions die because of Kingdra's speed.

Kingdra rules the format.

TOO FAST FOR METAGAME.

That spread deck is way to slow.

Magnezone dies due to speed.

Empoleon's DEAD. DRE and scramble worked with the card to make it GOOD.

Vileplume, again, can't keep up with kingdra.

Leafeon's too slow for kingdra *donks eevee*

Blissey can't live with the ever fast format.

Kingdra pwns everything.

I've been testing kingdra for a few weeks now and in all my tests I've only gotten T1/2 kingdra about 3 times. Yes kingdra is fast but it takes a turn or 2 to get set up. I usually get set up around T3 or 4. Yes I agree that unless you get donked sprites loses to kingdra. This is because sprites is only good early game but once the opposing deck gets set up all they need to do is kill one or 2 sprites and they lose. It's hard to get a lv.x out fast let alone 3 with low HP. Luxray is one of the decks I've tested against the most and I've won almost every game. Luxray just can't consitently do the 100 per turn. Lanturn can be a problem but all of them have low HP getting the energy out of the discard doesnt' do anything because of their low HP you can win without using their second attack. In fact just be careful of what you discard and tentacrule becomes almost useless. Eeveelutions could be a small threat. Leafeon once set up is a really hard match because if they have a espeon in play it's a 130 and every attack kingdra does is reduced by 40 if the leafeon player is smart and just keeps doing 60 reduced by 20. Magnezone is slow and is metal so weakness doesn't hurt it. Magmortar is hard but you easily kill it. Spread hurts though. Against emp it's really hard because emp's spread to kill you support it's hard but you kill faster than it so all you need is speed. Against blissey once again all blissey has against you is speed so if you get set up before your donked you win.

Magnezone decks play Vire X in them, they Motor Drive, then use its the 50 attack and OHKO if they flip 2 or more heads. Magnezone IS a good deck, its not that slow, setting up depends on your starters.

Magnezone base build:

3-2-2-2 Magnezone DP/Magnezone X
3-2-1-1 Vire SW/Vire DP/Vire X
2-2 Claydol GE
1 Registeel LA

TM1-EVo
Night Maintenance
Rare Candy
Energy Patch

Metal SP
Metal Base
Lightning

why wouldnt Magnezone play Rotom/Vire in it,Auto Paralyze is good,AUTO Paralyze, that means they cant retreat attack with that active for a turn forcing them use resources as warp switches when they dont want to.

Free retreat and a energy manupilater and can auto paralyze in one is always average at best lol

Magnezone does better as a sniping deck with Palkia Lv.X, best synergy ever. Though its very slow and half the loses come from not getting set-up. The auto paralyze is just iceing on the cake. It seems to lose alot to decks that play Lv.X's though.

I'd like to classify Magnezone as a 'Porygon dilemma' for the fact that the X is nice but the regular..Well, it sux butt.

DP Magnezone is nowhere as good as the Lightning one,not evn close, but the fact u can move energy, retreat for free, then move again is so good to think about it,the deck works. Its not really a fast deck, not alot of stage decks are besides GG and Kingdra will be. It takes a few turns to setup, but once it does, itll be hard to stop. Palkia X in it just seems to slow for me,I rather get the job done with vire.

People are just jumping on the auto-paralyse like its somehow godly.. it really isn't.

Auto-Paralysis is extremely rare. In most cases it requires a coin flip or is a one trick pony, being able to consistently control if an opponents pokemon can attack or not is immensely powerful.

Going 1 turn without being able to attack is frustrating. Being locked down forever with good control over your attackers is insanely frustrating.

I do like the Palkia variant of Magnezone. It is quite an impressive build and I may try it some time. The only problem I have is that you then lack a good wall in Dialga MD.

Electivire MD?

Yeah, that was supposed to be SW.

I do have this deck made atm, and the aggression it puts out is beastly. I beat a couple of Empoleon decks with it, as well as some other frustrations, Blissey included. This deck will be very tough to beat in a few months and can keep up with Kingdra.

Wait for the Super Connectivity one then talk zone.. for now.. its average at best.

Why? You have Rotom and SW Vire in format. Losing the free retreat makes this deck less efficient. Rotom picks up the Metal energies you lose, Vire picks up the Lightning.

I actually just played a test match with my Magnezone Lv.X list on Redshark against a Kingdra list, and won easily without using the Paralysis attack at all. The problem I see over and over again with Kingdra is that after it ever uses that Energy Stream to do some serious damage, it takes a while to load up enough energy to do it again for serious damage, where as most other heavy hitters do it again and again every turn. Even Magnezone can do it. I ended that test match mentioned above by using a Metal Blast with 6 energy for 110 and a KO. The Kingdra deck still had 4 prizes left.

I like how people say Kingdra owns everything.
Anyone heard of Wager+Psy Lock?
Yeah, try that on for size. Plox screws Kingdra over, it messes up the flow of Kingdra and the constant energy recursion provided by multiple Claydols so that your attacks aren't doing as much.

Gallade will still be famous, as long as you can power it up with another pokemon on your bench. Those pokemon will be groudon and kyogre. And yeah, I played against a proxy kingdra deck with my Rhyperior/Gallade/Groudon deck and pretty much 6-3 that deck and Rhyperior was actually fast for the first time and Gallade was really fast with no DRE's.
