Guys the hotel drives me crazy... the appropriate person, who could decide it is out of office. We need to wait untill the monday. We are almost there and now they are considering the pro and cons...

Stay tuned and I will inform you as soon as I know more. I even informed the second venue and they are expecting final result on monday ;-)... solved ;-)

it seems like there was a huge final rush to get rooms right around aug 31. its too bad we have to wait till monday to find out the fate of having eurocup at the hotel duo

best of luck tomas
(i guess its not rlly luck since there either will or wont be enough reservations. even if there arent enough, in theory ppl could still keep sending up until monday no? =p)

Not to be a doubter, but could somebody from PUI (Pete or Dave) chime in on this thread and confirm that this event in fact carries a 32K value towards worlds ratings? Can't find this event on www.pokemon.com.

Some friends of mine mailed Customer Service about this and have not received an answer yet.

As I couldn't find neither any other European event with K rating at this time, I guess they're working it out.

Maybe Snox can give us some info

We were close to the number, but the hotel got very good offer from somebody else. But I discussed with them a lot and we agreed on cooperation and we could use space in hotel DUO. Not the main conference hall, but the new hall could hold around 160-200 people, so I hope it will be ok ;-).

I will go there to see the new hall on thursday making final plans...

So yes we have hotel DUO!!!! ;-)

thats great!
but speeder brings up a valuable concern, is there any way for PUI to confirm the 32-k value of the event?

TPCI suprised with their late announcement that K-value 32, which was discussed at Professor CUP and Worlds would affect the rating that much, that they need to lower the K-value of the tournament to 16. I fighted for 32, but I could understand a bit now - I don't want to see players playing european cup and not their regional torunaments.

SO THE K-VALUE HAS BEEN LOWERED TO 16. YOU WILL SEE THAT ASAP - SANCTIONING IS IN PROCESS.

THERE ARE NO INVITATIONS TO WORLDS.

Sorry guys - this is something I havn't counted with. Please accept my deepest apologies for this inconvenience.

Everything else is valid and no additional changes will be made. TPCI made a final statement.

i was going to turn up to represent UK/Australia but....16k? I pass. Good of luck to ya'll.

I can understand that :-(

But still lets see who is the best player among Europeans. This is chance, when everybody could meet and play as a representative of their country. It is near to everywhere. Lot of players from different countries. Start new modified season with this event. Show everybody that you have the best deckbuilding skills...

16k is fine. realistically 32k was too much, a nationals-level tournament shouldnt happen in the first 2 months of the season even if the attendance is large

16k is still alot more than we could ask for this early in the season, we'll just focus more on winning the travel award

32 K at that point of season would have been to much.

But what I don't like is that they lower the K-value now after the announcement has been out. I don't know who's responsible and if TPCi gave their word on K-32 first (I think so since our LD announced the tournament as well), but changing it now is a little late imo.

Think I'll be there anyway, as long as I can play Benelux Cup and some States, I get enough chances to boost my rating later. ;)
