On pokebeach there is a post about a chandelure that has 170 hp and is Basic!
I thoughr they might do something with evolved pokemon as EX or something similar
But to have them basic is crazy to me, y don't we just get rid of evolving pokemon altogether?
What's ur guys thoughts on this?

Here is the translation given

Chandelure-EX - Psychic - HP170
Basic Pokemon

[P] Cursed Drop: Put 4 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon in any way you like.
[P][P][C] Eerie Glow: 70 damage. The Defending Pokemon is now Burned and Confused.

When Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prizecards.

Weakness: Unknown
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

If this is correct, this is a tad bit late, unless Pokemon X and Y cards will be released the same way cards are now.

rebirth of pokemon sp

But it's worse than that. SP was a well supported gimmick introduced roughly the same time as the Plasma gimmick was in the BLW block. If they wanted to do this, it should've been the Plasma gimmick.

But implementing it now? Why couldn't it have been any other basic Pokemon? Rotom EX, or SPiritomb EX. This just screams "we understand the game is centered entirely around basics....and we aren't gonna fix it".

Next you know they'll phase evolution out of the game completely... at least Chandy EX is like, not very good. It's first attack is ok, but weak to Darkrai/Absol and just kind meh. Techable, not deckable.

Pretty much says to me that EX Battle Boost will be released as our November set now. New mechanics, new ace specs... so much for a reprint sent to synch the card game releases.

Also could this mean EXs are continuing into the X and Y sets? I really hope not.

A Stage Two to be an EX??

Pokebeach has revealed a scan of an EX card that happens not to be a legendary. Chandelure-EX. We all know by now that it's a Stage Two. Seeing a Stage Two being an EX is just mind blowing (Too bad they are still considered basic Pokemon). Another idea I thought of but might be rejected is that could Chandelure could be a legendary? But that's bogus. What are you're thoughts about it? Do you think it's a great move by the Pokemon International Company?

Link Here (If it doesn't work, copy paste it):

I think this is proof enough that the Pokemon X & Y TCG series will continue on with EXs as why would they only make one Stage 2 Pokemon a Basic Ex?

If they were planning on continuing EXs regardless, I love the idea of Evolved Pokemon being Basic EXs. It'll make it so more of people's favorites are playable. Can't wait for Lucario EX.

Having Evolutions as basics is nothing new. Such cards have existed since the second generation, and Japan's had them for every one since, aside from the fifth until now.

Hmm, it just occurred to me. At this point, every Legendary Pokemon has appeared as a card in the BW era except Phione and Arceus. Totally calling Arceus EX and a non-EX Phione to be in Battle Boost. (Phione would also work in a deck or something, though, beats including a Litwick with no Lampent or something similar. ;p)

You are still missing Regice and Regirock.

>.> Yeah, knew I was forgetting someone. Funnily enough, in my quick mental check, Registeel occurred to me, and I realized he had one. Guess it didn't occur to me they didn't yet. They'll probably feature in a pair of decks I'd imagine, either as the cover card, or as inserts like Suicune.

More Ex's just means more people buying singles. Go figure. I won't be purchasing packs for hopes of pulling 1 EX out of like 4-8 I need to be decked.

Same here. Pulled my first EX in 20 packs... it was White Kyurem EX... unusable... yayyyyy. I'm only buying tins or singles from now on. I guess "the sense of adventure" just isn't for me.

Wonder if you can still play it on a stage 1 as well? Some might want to for example in a celebi ex deck so use the previous evolutions moved

With how the set is supposed to be, it's not really a problem; Over 10% of EBB is EXs with no rarities on any card. (With the Pokemon Smash staff cards being 97-99 I'm not betting on any FAs)

I hope if they bring this over TCPi finally realizes that changing everything with the increased EX rarity and box pull rates like they do isn't going to work.

No, AnUnown. It's not an evolution card, so the only possible way it could evolve from something is if a card said it could evolve into Chandelure EX. (Which HAS happened before, with the Generation 2 Baby Pokemon.) Otherwise, the only way to evolve Pokemon is written on the card you're evolving into. (Which can occasionally be more than 1 method, which Blissey-ex has done, but is generally only 1.) And, of course, Chandelure-EX doesn't list any methods of evolving it into things.
