I think they did Curran's instead of Stuart's because (look at it from a marketing point of view) they want younger kids to buy their cards...and the younger kids want decks that were won with by kids thier age. And I don't think they wanted to have almost the same deck printed twice.

What did Takashi Yoneda and Michael Gonzalez play? Also, I don't understand why when a 10- and 11-14 win with the same deck, the 10- gets the deck printed. I would have thought the 11-14 would get rights to the deck, but w/e congratulations.

alright, but why not geoff's zappy? is it because you wanted to include at least one non-US winner?

We had a reason for every deck that we picked, including the balance between all 4 decks, as a whole...

More importantly, does Jeffers get hit with the PUI-logo stick?
His e-mail isn't a PUI address, so I need some official confirmation!

agh, dan's deck didnt get published!
Definately should have. Prolly more original then whatever the 3rd place 10- was playing...what was he playing, anyways?
---
Order of decks to be admitted(without repeats):

10- Champ
11-14 Champ
15+ Champ
10- 2nd Place
11-14 2nd Place
15+ 2nd Place
10- 3rd
11-14 3rd
15+ 3rd

The reason we got all the way down to 10- third here was all the repeats...darn medicham. So yeah, I think Somethingelse was right, dan was next...

My deck is just like Takashi Yoneda's but has Electrodes's and Pidgeot (ex's and holo.) It would be nice to hear reasons for the choices but we can all speculate why. I suspect Takashi was chosen over me to have 1 non-US deck. Or perhaps it was to get 1 11-14 but they could have made Stuart's deck the 11-14 one. Last year it was the 15+ winner's magma instead of 11-14 or 10- so it's odd year it's the 10- being selected over the 11-14.

they should have done 1st,3rd, 38th and 96th at worlds from 15+. how would 4 nidoqueen decks NOT sell?

The reason I think that they aren't selling your deck is because it is confusing to some. Good players tend to look to make sure that key cards aren't prized, but I think that someone just beginning might throw a fit to see a pidgeot and magcargo prized, and lose 'cause of it x_X

In short, you'd have an audience that appreciates your deck for what it is, a complex, creative take on Tyranitar. However, people in general would not appreciate it, and due to this, your deck wouldn't sell as well as Takashi's, which is a lot more straightforward =(

It's been explained in full detail why Curran's deck was printed.

Kinduva "duh" why Jeremy's deck was printed. After all, many people regard the 15+ world champion as the overall champ, so why not have his deck printed?

However, the last thing I'm trying to figure out is why Mikey's Ludicolo got printed over Geoffrey's Zapdos ex. Is it because Martin Moreno is that sexy of a person, or because Mikey Gonzalez is from California, where the event was held?

look a new game.. why did they pick those decks...

here's a theory that is easy to shoot down if you know all the decks (which I don't)

you want the four decks to be based around cards that are legal in the next season's modified?

was the zappy not printed because medicham (another t2 deck) is already getting printed?
or is it because geoff can't write in script? i mean, wasn't it a little impressive at all that an 8-year old came second? I was impressed at least...

I think the reason the LudiCargo deck is getting printed instead of the ZapTurnDos is because LudiCargo is more popular in all of the age groups, while the Zap deck is mostly seen in the 10-.

I'm sure there's SOME reason why they printed the LudiCargo deck instead of Zappy...but I thought that they would have printed the Zappy deck because it's really easy for begginers to use and is a good starting deck that is actually GOOD!

Maybe there were 5 decks they wanted to print, but they were limited to 4, so they had to cut something at random. That thing just happened to be Zappy.

The "illegal" reason is convincing, yet...not convincing.

Zappy is the most simple deck of the RS-on format. However, just because Dual Balls and elekids will be illegal doesn't mean that players won't try to find ways to play them. The deck is still very much legal =/

Here's the thought process of a beginning player:

"wow, what an awesome deck this Zapdos thing is! I want to build it on my own!"

"Oh wait, there are a few illegal cards in it? Really? :frown: "

"Oh well, I can still take a few things out, put a few things in... "

Illegal cards didnt' stop people from buying the decks from LAST year, did they? :/
