Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

How do you cook a duck?

Spinda is Ahhhh-MAZING! */rant*

Mawile CG does sound like a good idea. I've always liked it's ability to search the deck for a cessation crystal and attach the cessation crystal to itself T1. It would help a bit against Honchkrow and maybe even T1 Rare Candies into poke-powered foes (on the second turn of the game).

Blissey kind of beats it...

Blissey has issues against Early Game. The Blissey must get setup and at times this creates the issue.

After playing on Apprentice a bit, another idea comes to mind as well.. Smeargle!

If you load your hand with Energy, you can gain some advantage based on In hand Ratio. With getting 3 energy, you decrease the odds of grabbing that all important Supporter. Blissey with Smeargle could be an interesting situation against the Duck do to loading your hand with Smeargle and being able to attach to the benched Chansey/ Blissey. If the keep discarding the Nrg, it is just fuel for Blissey!

I could see some variant of this:

POKEMON 14

4 Smeargle
4-4 Blissey
2 Spinda

TRAINERS 28

4 Great Ball
4 Duskball
4 MasterBall
4 Poke Nav
4 POkedex
4 Professor Birch
2 Warp Point/ SSU
4 Night Maintenance

Energy 17

3 Holon FF
4 Boost
5 Fire
5 Basic Dark

This would be an interesting twist to the discarding of DWD. I understand you will burn your deck quickly, but idealy you could setup rather nicely if needed! Spinda hitting Everything in DWD for 40 with a Basic dark nrg is just nice as it gets things within Manageable KO range for Blissey! NTM, If you wanted to toss in Cessaiton Crystal, you could just madify the Ball Engine and go with it!

You allow them to do it for you! The idea for them is to get goin on discarding your hand, right? If they target enough Energy Early Game, which will occur with Smeargle getting it for you, you just take your time on setting up your benched Blissey's until they decide they have discarded enough and want to start attacking you, or you decide you have enough nrg to OHKO them! It is simple yet effective. If they decide to not Baleful Wind your hand, then you just keep stacking Energy on your Chansey/ Blissey until they KO either your Smeargle or Spinda.

You could modify this list as it was created in all of 1 minute. Just came up with it as I was typing. Take Pokedex to 2 and Nav to 3 and toss in 3 TVR! Easy as that! Now you are discarding! You have to think outside of just what is written! I never said this was the list for everyone, but it wold definitely help against DWD. By using all the Trainer you can minus one or 2, you can thin your hand quickly just to reload it with Energy Cards from the deck!

Would someone plz explain to me why the deck name has duck in it, if it dosn't have anything to do with ducks?

Everyone does realize that whenever you try to build your deck to beat one deck, you lose to all the other decks, right?

You have to understand something. There is no counter to DWD. Yes, it can lose. I have lost quite handily a few times. But there is no bad matchup. If DWD gets its start, it is very, very hard to beat.

I have no problem trading my Murkrow for your Ray ex. I would love to draw two prizes. Not to mention, I'll just get back my Murkrow with Darkness Wing.

None of these "techs" matter if DWD keeps making you shuffle in/discard your one card hand.

Ill say it again how about raichu mt something like this

4-3-1 lucario Lvx for absol
4-4 raichu for the big guy.

16
4 Battle Frontiers
2 lake boundaries
3 celios
3 rosseenes
1 night maintience
2 warp points bring out the big bird.
4 pp
3 castaways
3 cess
2 sc
1 other card

28

6 lightning
6 figtning
2 multis
2 dre

mess around with it its like t2 deck.

You'll lose to pretty much everything else.

Yeah you'll beat DWD...if you set up.

yeah, I don't think it's the right approach to build a deck to counter DWD, but certain techs that have been mentioned in this thread will help the matchup.

JKW.. this is true, but the deck List I provided also helps combat Gardevoir as there will be very few Supporters in the discard pile. I agree that teching against something specific can cause auto losses ofr other style decks, hence the Basic Fire and Holon FF to avoid the weakness issue.

I didn't so much build a deck list to just counter you, but rather a concept that can creat decent matchups against several decks. Spinda is a decent starter as it can grab 2 cards for you, one form top and bottom, so it is like having Bill back as it increases hand size in non dark/fire matchups. Smeargle's Trace can be interesting, although flippy, to deck's that need to power a couple of turns! Get a heads and you might be able to do some decent damage of Stage 2 cards that arent powered up!

The list I posted is a nice idea against several decks out there, but in concept I agree that Techs will not necessarily beat the Duck! Slow it down, maybe, but it is nice ot look into the card pool and find them! :thumb:

GL to everyone and have Fun!!

True. I will say that Smeargle causes problems. Spinda for 40 would be a problem but won't last forever. Now, Blissey is a problem. Not something that one card can't take care of, though.

empoleonperson- Lucario is pretty easy to beat. They 3 hit your Murkrows...
