You're right. The way those asterisks popped up with 5 of them and then a 'd' made it look to everyone like I used the f word ended in 'ed'. That is embarrassing to me since there's a lot of young people on here and many are my friends.

Think of it this way. You might not mean to rear-end someone in your car, it's accidental that you couldn't stop in time, but you still need to pay for damages.

But I was accused of rear ending a car while I was home on my couch;)
 
I really want to know what this word is. I've seen some terrible censorship on this site and other sites for words that were no where near derogatory. I will say this, if two admins seen the word, and both have decided to not reverse the infraction, then the word must of had some in bad taste meaning.

More info for you;
Acronyms in text form that have a meaning of a cuss word is STILL a cuss word...such as LM....."fill in the blanks" is a cuss word.

The Official Guide to having no infractions for over 6 years:

1) Create a Pokegym Account.
2) Write your info and store it in a safe place that you'll never forget
3) Sign out
4) in 6 years, log back in.

Infraction free~

Best way to avoid this.. is not use acronyms because acronyms can have different meaning to different people.
 
Gary, I'm sorry that this happened. It seems common courtesy is a thing of the past. The fact that most of these people seem to not understand that it really does harm you is sad. I'm gonna but out now seeing as I'm not a major member like most of you are.

In all honestly, you're most likely gonna get an infraction near the first week or day. I got mine and I ended up taking a leave for a month but I still have that scar today when I'm typing this. However, that doesn't mean you should just leave the site. Trust me, I've gotten a couple in my years. Mainly minor ones which don't make any sense, however, that's life. Just accept it and move on. You still can avoid the banhammer if you believe in yourself. :thumb:

Fun fact: Did you know that when it says that an infraction will inspire in x days, I thought I was going to be banned in x days? Sad, isn't it.

Now I got this character Benzo saying that NOW I'm going to make good posts as if I made a bad post. That's what I was saying PokePop...there's a stigma attached to someone with a major infraction. Even your own people have to throw in their two cents. Now tell Daniel and Benzo to leave me alone. Enough damage has been done.
 
You're really not helping your case here gary. Every post you make makes it worse. If you don't like poeple having opinions, perhaps you should have kept this between yourself and the mods. Now you've made it a thread, the thread belongs to the community, and people are entitled to their opinions. Besides, Benzo isn't even a mod in the area your post was supposedly in, so he had nothing to do with it.

You DID make a bad post. Even if it was not your intention to, you did. Own up like a man, deal with it privately like, oh, I dunno, everyone else ever that has gotten an infraction ever, and move on. Otherwise, you can expect us to pop some popcorn at your expense as you chase your own tail and try to bite it.
 
I get what your saying, I once got a infraction for quoting a book on the Pokegym because it was above a PG rating. If the book is above a PG rating, why is it on the Pokegym?
Guys, cool off. I personally would be HUGELY upset if I got an infraction for posting something that I did not post. I'd probably be doing what Gary is now, complaining about it. Its possible he made a typo, and his typo ended up being a cuss. Or its possible that it was a system error. Maybe, instead of bashing him for being upset about it, we should figure out whether or not we are assuming malice when there wasn't any, and then figure out why it starred out?
 
Gary, you do know people can't see your infractions, right? I can't just open up your profile and be like "Oh that Gary, swearing all over the place". Nobody would even know you had an infraction if you hadn't said anything about it.
 
there are words in the forum filters which are not 'profanity' per se, but are still deemed unacceptable...for example, sexual references, slurs/hate speech, etc. they still fall under the 'profanity' infraction...

Yes I do realize that. The problem is the auto correction that misinterpreted a word ended up with 5 asteriks then a 'd' which made it look like I used the f word ending in ed. I simply asked pokepop to remove the infraction and that word. Not that unreasonable but he'd rather protect djgigabyte and ignore my concern.

Of course...and that is how it should be.
 
Given the context of the sentence the infraction occurred in...one referring to how pokemon was selling all types of branded products...it's pretty clear that the filtered word is one of two possible ones, both having to do with selling one's own or someone else's "services". And yes, those are both in the forum filters...

Ahhhh yes...now I recall. It never struck me like that cause as an adjective its rather harmless. Kind of like punk and punked. If I call you a punk or say you were punked, one should be banned and the other not.

^Understandable. I have no issues with you. I thought perhaps a bit of humor could lighten the mood a bit in here.
I can not resist wordplay very well, one of my habits is all. Sort of on the scary compulsive side at times, lol.
 
I think it is best that everyone just drops this matter entirely.
We all get infractions. I too have gotten infractions for silly things, but put that behind yourself and move on.
If it were me, this wouldn't have been the thread I would've been discussing this matter with in the first place.

It wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't Daniel or if it was a profanity.
