that song Oo..

kinda epic 2 have a theme song 4 your deck wich doesnt contain any of the pokemon your playing
or involving pokemon at all XD

anyways
im playing it with crobat prime (free retreat cost 1 enery atacks 130 hp - good against bearticOO!

Zekrom should be in the deck for three reasons.

1) Moving the damage counters from Gothitelle as the active, and pile them on Zekrom to power up his outrage.

2) OHKOs Yanmega and Kingdra prime with outrage

3) Pile all of the damage counters onto Zekrom and use Seeker/Max Potion to heal all of the damage counters.

I agree that he should increase his line to 4-3-3 Gothitelle. Only problem is what cards do you think he should replace in order to increase the Gothitelle line.

Actually, only the 3rd is a good reason. If you ever attack with Zekrom, it breaks your lock. And Gothitelle can OHKO both given Pokemon too, it has no damage cap. Zekrom's only selling point is it can take 12 damage counters and its a basic. Honestly, you are better off with Reshiram so you get the bonus of killing Kingdra's output while on the bench.

And as discussed throughout the thread, you need 3 Goth minimum. If one gets KO'd int he set-up process you only have one left. If one is prized, could be game ending,

After playtesting this deck, I realized that having a 3rd Gothitelle wouldn't hurt having the deck. Eventually your going to have to rely on having a another Gothitelle as your backup attacker.

1- Zekrom
1+ Gothitelle

Now that catcher will come into play, it's going to be harder to get Kingdra into play than you think. Your opponent will knock out that Horsea before it becomes into Kingdra. In order to avoid that situation, you would have to run a 2-1-2 Kingdra line and with that it's bound to slow the consistency of the Yanmega/Magnezone deck. With new cards on the horizon, older decks get weaker and weaker as the format goes on...

As of right now, there aren't any good comepetitive decks that have a weakness to Fire at the moment, and I feel Zekrom can OHKO Yanmega and Kingdra for the time being. I'll change it to Reshiram if a competitive deck is ever weak to Fire.

The Reshiram thing isn't above OHKO's or otherwise. Gothitelle can OHKO Kingdra and yanmega, while locking them fo trainers. The second you attack with Zekrom, theydump there hand and the KO is no longer worth the cost. So active, Zekrom actually hurts you unless you are going for a powerful final attack. If that's the case, it doesn't matter which pokemon uses Outrage, they both max at 140 anyway.

The reason a dragon is good in this deck is because it takes no set-up to be a big damage sponge, especially against dragons. Reshiram hits for 120, move to your dragon, proceed from there. The choice between Reshiram/Zekrom should be unoticable, though only reason i abdocate Reshiram is because even while on the bench it can have a postive effect, as opposed to just sitting there taking damage.

Well I can attest to how annoying the healing potential is; spent literally 6+ turns blasting him with a basic reshiboar build (no PP) with Blue Flare and he still managed to heal it off every turn to eventually win >.>

That and Gothitelle sucks a lot with its Trainer Lock, my last Pignite was prized and I couldn't Candy into regular Emboar.

Went to a tournament today and I went 3-2.

Game 1:

(Ttar Prime/Zoroark/Mandibuzz) The match came down to the wire and I almost decked myself out. Luckily, I drew the last psychic energy to deal 50 damage to Ttar Primes who had 50 HP left.

Win 1-0

Game 2:

(Samurrot/Serperior/Donphan/ERL)I couldn't pull a supporter if my life depended on it >_>. Also, I opened with Solosis and wound up using Cell Culture, just to avoid the donk. He knocked all 3 of my solosis out before I can evolve to Reuniclus. Without Reuniclus, my deck got crippled badly. Not to mention, I had Gothitelle, Reuniclus, and 4 psychics prized. Not much I can do...

Loss 1-1

Game 3:

(Donphan/Yanmega/Zoroark) Once I got the Gothitelle out, there was nothing he could do to knock any of my Pokemon out.

Win 2-1

Game 4:

(Magneboar) I managed to get a Turn 2 Gothitelle to slow him down. He couldn't get anything going, so I took a straight 6-0 win.

Win 3-1

Game 5;

(Mew Tool Box with Jumpluff/Muk/Zoroark/Yanmega.) This deck had some difficulties catching up, all I could really respond was Zekrom and Gothrita half the match. Eventually, I started to take prize after prize with Gothitelle. While I was taking prize after prize with Gothitelle to catch up, he struggled to get some energies and I slowed him down badly. After he knocked out my first Gothitelle, I get a 2nd Gothitelle by playing Junk Arm to get Rare Candy back and knocked out his 3rd Mew. However, his 4th Mew Prime was able to OHKO Gothitelle with Jumpluff's Mass Attack for the last prize card before I was able to knock out his Mew Prime. Sometimes, luck does play in a role... :(

Loss 3-2

Any suggestions on how I can improve on the match up against Mew Tool Box?

From what I learned, I learned that rescue energy is not needed in this deck. Therefore, I replaced it for psychic energy. There were not many decks that forced me to bring out a high retreat Pokemon, so I found myself not using the switch very much. Max Potion was a blessing however, especially when you want to keep that Gothitelle alive for as long as possible. I found myself frustrated thinking "I wan't to knock out a threat on the bench, but I can't", so I replaced 1 switch for 1 Pokemon Catcher. With Catcher in the deck, it would be like having 4 catchers, since I run 3 Junk Arms (3 Junk Arm + Pokemon Catchers= 4 Catchers)

1- Rescue
1- Switch
1+ Psychic
1+ Catcher

Haha, thanks Amphy#1 :D

Can someone tell me what the purpose of putting in Tornadus as a tech? I saw someone else use Tornadus as a tech at the tournament and had a 3-2 record like mine.

Its for the RDL i would think

WHAT!! A Tornadus? You could just use Bouffolant for that. This deck shouldn't worry about RDL at all. If Reshiboar sets up on you, then you've already lost. Which shouldn't happen, because of trainer lock and Catcher. (which some goth builds play)

My only guess is that you start attacking with Tornadus early on and use the hurricane attack to move the psychic energies onto Gothitelle. Then the moment Tornadus gets knocked out, you bring in your fully powered up Gohitelle and it will be ready to strike for 90+.

I can see that. But what's supposed to happen is that something get's KOed, then you play Twins to finish setting up, NOT get first turn KO's with Tornadus.

Starting with Tornadus will make Twins dead. If you're not fully set up, your opponent will just walk all over you. Stick to the basics and stop trying to be creative, because it's not working.

It seems as if you may need Poke Gear 3.0

Its a great consistancy card!
Posted with Mobile style...

You know what?, that might just work!! Especially if you play a lot of Supporters. 2 of them could really be helpfull. You could pokegear into a Tiwns, PONT, PETM, Collector etc..... I think I'll try it in my deck too.

I went through several changes in my trainer list. The energy and Pokemon lines are the same.

Changes I made to the deck are below

1- Seeker (I have Max Potions to solve my problem and I feel like playing 1 Seeker sets me a turn back to getting anywhere. Also, I wind top decking them during the beggining phase of the game. Therefore, I need more search/draw powers to speed up the deck)
1- Switch (The only reason I ran switch is because of Beartic. Being that there are hardly any Beartics in the tournament, switch is useless against many other decks)
1- Copycat (The only time copycat was ever useful was against decks that ran Ninetales. Other than that, your opponents hand size would be 5 cards or less on average, and I wind up using Oaks New Theory to draw more cards instead)

1+ Collector (Even though Ross's Deck ran 3 collectors, the Gothitelle deck is entirely different because you need that T1 collector to get somewhere and to be able keep up with your opponent)
2+ Juniper (I feel like my hand size tends to get low at times. The fact that I run so many junk arms tells me that I need to have a bigger size hand in order to use Junk Arm to the fullest benefit.)
1+ Judge (Being able to limit my opponents options combined with Gothitelles ability is quite useful)
1+ PokeGear 3.0 (It's so important to be able to draw a supporter in the early phase of the game. If you don't draw a supporter within the first few turns, your deck cripples and it will go downhill from there)
