I've said right from the get-go what I'm in this thread for... the rest consists of people picking fights with me.

Metagame basics come into play before anything; a pro alone cannot change a group's opinion and this is no exception.

As I said, it was an extreme example, but the line of thinking is there all the same. If you'll only accept what you want to accept, then you're showing one **** of a closed mind. That in general is tragic.

Yes, I know you can play at that level without doing it, but it seems every SSBM video I come across has people gauging skill by how effectively they can abuse a bug.

"Ludicrous comments" when Chris' post actually reassures me that the start of the argument really wasn't as bad as I thought I'd been. I haven't even preached any kind of debate complex... explained a fallacy, sure, but the strawman fallacy is pretty basic, so nothing special to know what it is.

I started with my thesis statement as it were, i.e. that wavedashing is a bug, and didn't stray on to the junk Hax accuses of being like the core of my argument. I wouldn't consider that any kind of world-class troll... annoying, perhaps, but it's not like I came in saying, "Everyone who wavedashes is an idiot."

I've found something pretty awesome.. when you're in back of them pillaring try to face them (their back), when they keep shielding the pillar (considering you're doing it fast enough) you can jump-cancel a grab out of a shine; example shine -> dair -> shine -> jump-canceled grab - this is amazing into dthrow dsmash, you should try it out. button mashing ftw! lol, that's how I come up with this stuff. :lol:

Anyway, I'm without a doubt basing my arguments off personal experience; I don't understand how you're questioning someone who goes to tournaments monthly how they're basing their arguments off what others are telling them - that must make sense to you, especially when you have no evidence to back your speculations up.

No, in fact Samus is one of his better matchups. He can nair her thrice into knee which is kinda awesome and all she has on him is missile-camping, but nair outprioritizes missile. :biggrin: You'll never use uair, Samus is all about nair -> knee and dthrow -> knee.

What tourney was it? You could prolly suggest pools/single elim. (pools is better imo) to the tourney organizer.

Also I have abandoned my plans for online smash since I spent my PSO/AR money on some Wii games, haha; I'll just wait for Brawl but I hope Nintendo doesn't **** it up.

Is that, at least in my case, I don't spend any more time typing than you do. I don't proofread. I use backspace to edit typos as they happen.

If you have a good enough grasp of the language and can type well, it shouldn't take any longer to type properly.

I have no delusions of being an innocent little flower, but I also have no delusions about the fact that, quite honestly, forums aren't any different from high school in one respect: People act justified in demonizing the ones they don't like. "Bashing Marril is justified!" isn't a binary statement, there are times when I've earned it, and times when quite frankly I haven't.
