Hey ExoByte, when you say "Please rank the following options," can you specify whether 1 (on the scale of 1-4) is the most desirable or least desirable?

Sleeves + pack. If this is done, I will buy multiple ones (again)

I had the same confusion at first, until I realized I could also drag and drop to order. So I then assumed #1 was the best and #4 was the worst.

For 5 bucks, please give me sleeves. After that you could make the deckbox better or add another booster, but neither is a big concern to me on a personal level.

From a business perspective though, I think making the deckbox better would be the better choice. The user now feels like they got one more quality item instead of a higher quantity of the same. So their extra $5 bought them the same boosters, a better deckbox AND sleeves. Probably feels like a better deal than 1 more booster and no deckbox.

As much as I agree a deckbox would be great, it's easier to get a deckbox than sleeves at stores these days. Also, pre-releases already give out a deck box for each set, so the 'elite' trainers should be getting one deckbox per set already.

I agree. The question though was that if they raised it $5 and included sleeves, would I prefer a better deckbox and the same number of packs or no deckbox and an additional pack. Removing the deckbox might make consumers feel like they're paying more for less items even though they did get an additional booster.

Taking your comment further: it's easier to get a booster than a deckbox (especially for those who don't hit PRs)

I guess my target is special....... well it already is cause it gives out good EX pulls


EDIT: also, one person at league started to make his own deck boxes out of construction paper. They are surprisingly very good. (and last as long if not longer than PR boxes :thumb: )
 
But you have to tell them.. what kind of sleeves.. my target sells 2 booster packs with just plain color sleeves, like 20 solid red sleeves and 20 solid blue sleeves... which I don't really like. Let's say this Elite Trainer box had a lugia on it and the sleeves had pictures of Lugia... I bet the demand of the boxes would be higher if the sleeves were also customized

I'm guessing they would be similar to the old Pre-release sleeves we used to get. Those were decent, but only came in 60 pack with no extra.
 
Deckbox is number 1 on my list. I collect deckboxes and it pains me having to throw away all my pokemon deckboxes(the prerelease ones break after a couple weeks and the ETB one just got tossed in the trash because it wasnt good) at this point im using WOW tcg deckboxes because they are much better quality. Id also like a decent pokemon playmat(again using WOW) that isnt a door prize or top cut at regionals. Playmat not in ETB just something ive wanted
 
I would buy 1, MAYBE even more than 1 ETB every time it was released if they came with sleeves. No joke.
 
Sleeves are a highly personal thing IMO. People have a preferred choice for playing at tournament after tournament. So I think that the sleeves are a valuable commodity for trading afterwards, whereas the collapsible deckboxes not so much.

But hey....whatever gets people to buy the ETB!
 
Hey Dylan, quick question before I answer. When you talk about a higher quality plastic deckbox, I get two thoughts - The prerelease deckboxes, and the nicer boxes like the Black/White Ultra Pro boxes. Both are higher quality than the current cardboard box, but it's a pretty big difference.
 
Agreed, Ï put sleeves + better deckbox at the top. Boosters are meh, I can buy those whenever. I can't get a cool exclusive deck box or sleeves any time though.

Guys - if you make cool exclusive sleeves, we will buy your product! Capitalize on this knowledge XD
 
If they include sleeves, they have to have sleeves with the pokemon TCG cardback on them. MTG has them via ultra pro, and Yugioh has deluxe card sleeves, which depict the yugioh card back. Kaijudo has something similar to the card back, except it is a darker red rather than an orangey red, and Cardfight Vanguard has card back sleeves. I could use see through clear sleeves, but it just isn't the same.

Since Ultra Pro makes sleeves with Pokemon art on them, maybe license more Pokemon stuff to Ultra Pro, and have them make the sleeves? WOTC already does that for MTG anyway.

When talking about card back sleeves, this is what I'm talking about:

Magic

Yugioh

Cardfight Vanguard

Kaijudo (The middle one)

And Pokemon in Japan apparently has one too. I don't understand why we can't have one? On second thought, I don't really care if they outsource to Ultra Pro, so long as the card back sleeve exists.

Seriously look at all this stuff, especially the one in the third section, second column, and 11th row from the top of that section.

They have sleeves for their card back, why can't we?

They are all similar to the actual card backs, but not totally the same.
