...More props:

Props to Pete DeShaw for coming to UT. Behind-the-scenes efforts and support from you and others at PUI really is what makes this TCG OP the best in the world. Companies like UD and Decipher don't hold a candle to you guys. And WOTC could learn a lot from you guys too. Thanks for all you guys do.

ROFL!!! I can't really say anything nicer to this statement other than ROFL!

As far as this being one of the tougher regionals? Umm... no? Anyway congrats to the winners... but this wasn't that tough. GL had I think the toughest competiton of any of the regionals have had so far and probably will continue to have.

It's nice to see someone else thinks they were the toughest. Should make for a rousing Worlds and possibly Nationals (Nationals is really just a big Regionals anyway).

Like his music or not, Will Hung does something few of us are able - travel. I'll take his word over others who seldom travel outside their region. :)

Yah, but Simon doesn't really understand kareokee music, as well as country, rap, or broadway. I'll just bet his understanding of Pokemon is no different. :)

GO BO!!! (the only Idol singer worthy of the crown this year).

*Scratches head*

is this a dicussion about American Idol, Or MtnW Regionals?

anyway, i stopped watching american idol a few episodes after will tryed out.

Steve P may think the MW Regionals are TOUGH..

Just wait until this weekend.........The NW Regionals.....RULE!!!!!!!!!!

No offense, but Utah must of been the easiest regionals if anything. Just because your Colorado people got a free ride, dosen't mean it was a hard event. Try playing in an event where you have the head judge out to get you, it's a real challenge then =D.

Play some real people for once, geez.

No offense, but a win is a win. It's stupid to make one region look "weaker" than another. There's no need for a hierarchy in this game.

So Martin, how'd you place? What age group? I don't seem to recall your name in the top 4 for 15+. If it was so easy, where were you during the playoffs?

Yah Prime, my comments were intended primarily for my players' ears. I guess I shouldn't have stated my opinion in public.

Players generally only have a perspective for how tough/easy their matches were, not the entire field. IMO, a diversity of decent deck types makes the meta-game extremely tough. That's what we had in the MtnW Regionals. I'm not stating that we had the best players (which may or may not be true  ), just a VERY TOUGH playing environment. That's all.

:nonono:

I don't know, but if you have a head judge after you you must be causing problems. What does that statement have to do at all with the quality of the players?

I don't appreciate you ripping on our players, Martin. If anything, our players are a lot more courteous and friendly than some other places around the country, and your statement you made there apparently came out while you were switching the foot that was in your mouth.

Josh placed 4th. He played Blaze. He lost in the semis to bad matchup (DkHypno/Shards) and in the consolation match to multiple Shards.

IMO, you need to be a decent player in order to make the playoffs. Almost anyone in the playoffs is good enough to win the tournament. In the playoffs, it's mostly about good/bad matchups.

Obviously, you haven't played against Josh if you think he reeks.

Sorry, I don't know the 11-14 and 10-under winners. Hopefully, someone else can post those names/decks.

My son Joey was the one who played Josh.....He lost to Josh in the 1st round on the Tournament, they became friends during the event...They both lost only one round going into the Top 8 and then both went to Top 4, losing here in the Top 4... only to have to play each other for 3rd place....it was a great playoff.. both put their hearts into this match.
