Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Mountan West Regionals - 5/21/05 Salt Lake City, Utah

SteveP: My comment was more directed towards Martin.

I am sure that some areas have more skilled players than others, but theres no need to label some areas, weaker or stronger, or anything. That only serves to split up the players into categories that are not needed. We already have such attempts to do so by certain groups. There is no good reason to turn this game into such a contest. Let's all have fun, and be happy. I feel that's the main purpose of this game. Splittling up areas or groups of people into skill level only leads to arguements and bad attitudes. I rather just say that every area has their amount of skilled players and it should be an honor to win an regionals in any area.

Congrats to all the players, regardless of position, who played at the Mountain West Regional Championships! You should all feel proud of yourselves.

Hi it's Jordan!

I'm the one who won the 11-14 with Lanturn/DkHypno and I just want to say thanks to all the judges and people that I met. It was a fantastic tournament and I look forward to seeing many of you at Nationals. Unfortunatly I did not get to play against Josh Ross but I did meet him, and he is phenomenal player and great sport. An in reply to Davis, this regional had great a 11-14 turnout. 2 of the Top-5 11-14ers. Plus many other good players. I wasn't at Great Lakes so I can't really compare the two but this was not an easy tournament.

Thanks again!

I agree that this Regional was much tougher than the So.Cal Regional. Last week, everyone was trying to figure out how to deal with Battle Frontier. Most people at So.Cal Regional played some varient of ludi/cargo which wasn't even good in my opinion. This weekend it seem as if everyone had already figured out what their approach was going to be in terms of dealing with the Emerald Expansion.

The diversity of good decks and at least 5 states being represented at this Regional made the tournament really tough.

I had a great time at this event, everyone was friendly and the staff was very professional. Thanks!

Thnx for the recognition SteveP and yeah that Pideotto being in prizes that last game really hurt me, but hey ya win some ya lose some i have no regrets from regionals. I was very happy to have placed 5th in my first ever big tourny and was surprised my rock-lock held up so well against decks i rarely see in our hometown.

Props to all the organizers and judges for putting on an awesome regional i enjoyed every minute of it.
Props to all the other out of staters always fun to meet new faces and friends in the world of pokemon tcg gives ya people to talk to at other big events.
Lastly Props to all the champions for a great performance

Jordan great job on winning your second Regionals!!! How did Curran and Elissa do ?

MtnWest Reg

Curran came in 3rd, losing to a ZapDos in the Top4. Elissa came in 9th missing the cut by one spot. See you in Philly!

Temper, Temper. That's my brother you dissed too, though, SSDSHADOW. How 'bout you play him and we talk later?

Shut the hell up Logion Alex is my friend to and if you wnat he could kick your at Pokemon any time just like me. if Alex weren't there then your brother would have kept talking crap about me and if he thinks he so good than I'd like to see him do good at regionals. FYI never diss a Colorado player cause we could kick your any day.
Now don't talk crap about me ever again. PS Hey Spookes you guys can just keep the cards cause you started the Joe squared team!!!!!!! Hey Joey

Edited Hey you do know that using masking for inappropriate words is also not allowed, right? Also do not use that other word!

Hey Thanks Josh! Joey says Hi! and in keeping with the newly formed Joe squared team, he cant wait to meet up with you again at Worlds (if not sooner at a Gym Challenge)

Brad and Ryah thank you for the cards.
We all had a great time at the Mountain West Regionals.
:)

Who won 10-

I might have missed it but could some one list the 10- winners and their decks for the Mountain west region and what state they were from?

Go BSU broncos!

I suggest that EVERYONE involved in the trashtalk STOP it RIGHT NOW.

Has no one learned anything from the CA/NV threads? Doesn't look like it...

Blaziken98, SSDSHADOW, Logion, and blazekid: consider yourselves warned. Any more posts like the ones above will result in temp bans and the thread being locked. If you think I'm kidding, just try me...:nonono:

hi PokeMom. No need to lock this thread because it's all about the MtnW Regionals. I'd appreciate just deleting the guilty postings.

CO guys. FYI, some GL-area players have always been known for trash-talk. Keep that in mind and their disrespectful postings shouldn't bother you much. They've got some great players who've won or placed high at past major events, so their over-confidence is expected. FYI, CO is no slouch. Although we've never out-right won a major event, we've been well-represented in the playoffs of many major events, including the 10-under finals at Worlds 2002, and we've had CO players at the last three TMBs. We're the Karl Malone, Charles Barkley of Pokemon -- great players who've never won a championship. Hopefully, someday, we'll be more like John Elway.

so does that mean you'll get tired of not winning in Colorado so go live somewhere else to do it?
