Net decking and SotG...

LOL.
Now the link to the ebay auction is appropriate because it fits in with the topic.
Looks like you got your link, Jimmy.

Well this is not that different from MTG. Ive seen Magic decklists for sale too. Imagine how much money you can make Jimmy for selling the actual deck? I know that isnt your intent though. Very amusing though what you are doing.

I've never seen a magic deck LIST for sale. Complete decks, sure, but that's really no different from buying singles.

This is ridiculous, by any other TCG's standards this is complete idiocy. This game's player base and metagame is so degenerate at this point that we've fallen to the level of deck lists being SO coveted you'll PROFIT off them?

Is this some kind of sick way to make up for the lack of cash prizes for winning tournaments or something?

Or is this some kind of subtle statement about how broken this metagame is, people will pay MONEY for a list that can topple the decks that have an apparent stranglehold on the format?

:) now you see part of the implication- people all want to run one deck to win- and are willing to pay money... where does that lead the game? Everyone, or the majority, playing one or two decks, and we see no variety... now we are like most other card games.

What sets us apart from other card games, is that we HAVE the options and the amount of cards to build limitless amounts of different decks- they can be made viable, some take more time than others to fine tune and be brought up to standard... THIS is why we can whine and complain about Netdecking- because the variety is there, and no one is using it, thus creating a very bland game.

Semi off-topic: lol I love how Jimmy says "SECOND BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD(damn Jason)

Tag: Jimmy's intentions arn't to make a profit from his list, his intentions (at least from what I can tell) are to comply mock and ridicule net deckers.

Secondly this metagame isn't broken; If you hadn't notice there where a good dozen different decks (or more) that won at the state championship level, ovbiously not only the deck, but the player aswell can responsibility for winning.

Now if people are LAZY enough to BUY a deck list, they shouldn't bother playing the game.

I love you Mike. <3333

lol this post sums it up

Yeah, if it wasn't obvious that posting a list on eBay was a joke then... you need a lesson on sarcasm.

He could care less about the 25 bucks. It's just a statement.

going WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back to when Ryan was talking about distinct differences between identical strategies/ similar lists vs identical strategy/identical lists. its like cheating on a test, if you and someone next to you have the EXACT same answers, you know that most of the time 1 person put all their effort into it, and then another person just copied it. that isnt right. Again, there's a difference between "net-decking" and building off of somebody's idea.

of course. No one said running 2 Destiny decks is neciscarily "cheating on an exam" - you can't tell. no one can. if it is the exact build as Jimmy's, THEN we have a Netdecker probably. but if your list differs and has it's own techs and special surprise, then that's called 'Archetyping'.

What we're trying to stop/lower, is the people who are just copying and pasting a list and playing with it.

my little rant about variety before had nothing to do with this though- just saying what makes us unique to other card games and why we can whine about it lol

It's nothing like cheating on a test. =/

Well it worked as someone bid on the auction.

I did bid on it, so now I am LAZY and possible bribing my way up?

Funny, I always thought it was the American model:if you have something what is in high demand, you sell it to the highest bidder. What's wrong with that?

I think the game has gotten to A point where it should not be called A Game and that the Spirit of the Game stuff should just be blown away.

This "Game" should be called A "Best starting hand wins!" Why? simply because 95% of decks worldwide are Arche-types. and right now, you use Metanite or Bandoom or you are screwed. A Game consists of different outcomes and variety, do you see that in this game? no. just two decks. This "Game" has gone beyond 'Fun' and it completely based on who uses Bandoom or Metanite and who gets the better starting hand. And how can A game be fun when you either use one of two decks or you are stuffed.

And this Spirit of the Game stuff is BOGUS! I mean, people SAY they follow it, when they actually DON'T. I think SotG is there, simply because it is there. I think people should have freedom to CHOOSE whether they want to be good sports, not get punished because they dont. I think losing the respect of their peers for being A sore loser is bad enough.

and as for this whole Jimmy selling A decklist, honestly, who cares? It doesn't affect the screwed up state of the game. It doesnt do anyone any harm to anyone. So everyone, go have A cry and moan about how Jimmy is selling A decklist on E-bay. I really do not see A problem with it. If someone wants to make A bit of money before something becomes public knowledge, you may as well, because the way the game is headed expect A trophy filled with stuff for worlds 09.

That never was, nor will it ever be, true.

Funny. I find 12 different decks that won at least 1 State Championship.

And Banette varients (yes, there's more than one way to play it) placed 6th on the list, btw.

So is Jimmy now the author of the Destiny list? Does he own the copyrights? What restrictions apply to the purchasers of this potentially copyrighted material? If copyright exists does holding copyright to a list violate POPs tournament rules?

The first post asserts that netdeckers are thieves. Does theft not imply ownership?

if anything, the game is in a much better state than last year. Last year we only had 3 or 4 leading decks: Raieggs, Queendom, Metanite, LBS. and then the lesser PLAYED decks, which did quiet well such as Mewtrick and Eeveelutions lol. This year, I have noticed a lot more variety. I'm seeing Bandoom, Destiny, more Flariados, a bit of Mewtrick, T-tar ex d, Flygod, Metanite, MSNBC- all sort of being played at once as opposed to just 3 or 4, and I never noticed THIS much variety last year.

And, as for the whole starting hand comment and the name of the game, I truly resent that. That is FAR from the truth, You weren't at Nationals nor Worlds last year- you have no idea!

Though I can understand your warped view of the game- the playing environment you are in is so damn negative. The Brisbane league needs work if this is how their players feel.

NINJA EDIT: Metanite and Bandoom have both been played here and not won, so gg

LOL Nopoke -

As far as I know, it's allowed for TO's/players/judges/spectators to publish decklists.
So if you enter a tournament and turn in a decklist, you can't claim copyrights, because you agreed with the tournament rules were this is covered.

All Jimmy is selling is "cooked air" (don't know the english expression)
If I stay the highest bidder I have several options.
1. Keep it for myself.
2. Resell copies of it for a cheaper price.
3. Share it.
4. Build an ANTI-Destiny deck and sell the list on ebay.

Marcus, the thing down here in Australia is, all you have to do is build A deck that consistant medium (60-80) damage every turn or two and you win.

Back in the day Australia pumped out some of the best talent. now look at Australia...not even A top 32 in worlds since god knows when...>.<

and Marcus I resent you telling me that I can't say squat because I wasn't at Nationals or Worlds, I could not go to Nationals last year was because my Grandma died. other than that I probably would have gone.
