Vanilluxe will see play, having the ability to "reverse warp point" is very strong, basically giving you disruption. Paired with dodrio, sky arrow bridge, or just a free retreater, it'll be like a circulator and switch every single turn, even under trainer lock.
Strong? Really?
Usually Stage 2 Pokémon abilities should be "better" than simple trainer cards (remember Quick Search, Delta Control, Telepass etc). You probably could fit one copy into a normal Vanilluxe lock deck, but that's it.

btw Chandelure combined with the other one could be quite interesting.

I hope Chandelure's attack name stays "Purgatory," sounds boss. We never get the "cool" attack names though, like Charizard Lv.X's "Hellfire" ;/

Actually Purgatory is the name of the attack in the games, so it's very likely it will keep that attack name.

Vanilluxe should have been stage 1 to be descent

i hope this set will come with all cards . . . i dont wanna get like a half and then like some promos xD

the exp share is great xD

While I don't mind these big basics, I'm a bit annoyed at the continuing disproportionate support they seem to be getting. Stage 2 decks, unless it involves trainer lock are unlikely to be competive despite the great abilities many of them possess. Speaking of stage 2's I also don't like the fact that many of them have powerful 1-2 energy attacks which will cause a lot T2 donks via rare candy (looking at you Luxray).

^seems to me the pattern the card creators are wanting us to go with is one in which the stage 2s support the beefy basic:

- emboar/typhlosion + reshiram
- feraligatr + Kyurem/kyogre EX
- gardevoir + mewtwo EX
- vileplume + mew/muk/yanmega (to a lesser extent of course)
- whatever + Regigigas EX

this seems to be the game plan from the card creators, which in my opinion is a welcome one. outside of this are a good mix of stage 1s, but even though there are a lot of basic-empowering cards, I don't see that many decks on the horizon that are comprised of only basics.

Im so happy gardy is good. Though it will be really good with mewtwo and i will play that deck i also really want to try gardy with gothitelle. I think there could potential there for a very good deck

Darmanitan - Psychic – HP110
Stage 1 – Evolves from Darumaka

[P] Synchro Draw: Return your entire hand to your deck, and shuffle your deck. Then, draw cards from your deck equaling the number of cards in your opponent’s hand.
[C][C] DarMAXitan: Flip a number of coins equal to the number of Energy attached to this Pokemon. This attack does 50 damage times the number of heads.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

(Translation from Pokebeach)

Looks like this could work well with the new Gardy

If the Darmanitan can take any energy then why not use it with something like Emboar so you can increase the damage quicker?

Exactly. I foresee this and Victini being thrown into decks already running Emboar/Typlosion/Feraligatr in order to counter MewtwoEX and Gothitelle. It only takes two heads to OHKO either of them. (it can also do 150 for 3 heads, which is enough to OHKO Zekrom/Reshiram/Kyurem with Evolite)

its hard to say how good the new darmanitan is we currently have exeggutor and audino whose attacks are slightly less powerful (40 vs 50 a flip) but they have less hp and there attacks only require 1 energy. dont think either of them are in many decks though audino is an easy tech, and we dont have flip victini yet to maximize their potential.

Don't you mean darMAXimize their potential lol I'm going to play the *** out of that card

I am calling a lostgar format. Seriously what can actually beat it?

TZPS runs 12 pokemon, half of which are out on the first turn. It also hits heavy very fast, and if you are using seeker as a means to LZ pokemon, you probably aren't doing much else. I'd go as far as saying that it's a 99/1 matchup.

I find it funny that KyuremEX is going to be easier to find than regular Kyurem is.

Why? Kyurem has no Promo Card or Full Art variation.

KyuremEX has a full art version that at least bolsters it's numbers.

Well it's not a bad set I guess. But there's SO much filler. Why are the card creators doing this? :/ Back in DF, literally half the rares/holos/exs had Powers and/or Bodies and then they started shifting a little more towards attacks but at least a lot of attacks were usable and 90% of the cards weren't clearly inferior to other cards. Ever since BW came out, it's been like this. :/ I get simplifying the game for new players and I'm all for it, but does anybody else feel like they're doing it a bit too much lately?

As far as the actual cards, Gardevoir and Kyogre EX are basically the only interesting things we didn't already know about. Basically everything else probably won't pass Tier 2, but we don't know what the meta will be then, so I won't make any assumptions. Better get your McDonalds Munnas now if you want to be safe lol...

Mannn fire is getting a boost. Being a grass trainer is tough these days :<

To be fair, grass is getting more support in this set than fire, what with shaymin EX, leavanny, skyarrow bridge which makes celebi prime playable etc.

If anything, fire is weakened from this set due to all the water pokemon being released.
