@ MarxForever and Vaporeon:

Hmmmmmm......... a challenge eh? We all KNOW disputes get settled by a VGC battle here on the 'gym. Unfortunitly for the both of you- you'll both have to take out this Ninja first to claim victory! :p

Only took a few days to grow on me, but I'm starting to like it. Depending on how the pokemon came to be/background/how you can capture it will truly determine how I feel. If it's a new form by Genesect's doing, then I'm fine with that. It makes sense. If it's an evolution or new form within itself, then I will dislike it.

Mewtwo had made Giovanni "forget" that he was created. Mewtwo also destroyed the lab he was created in. This does not mean that Team R did not have a second lab, working on the same project. The "rise" of Mewtwo means he is back, at least a reasonable assumption to make me think that Team Plasma knows of Mewtwo's existance. Team Plasma could have resorected Genesect to hunt down Mewtwo to capture Mewtwo for themselves, since Mewtwo is such a force on his own. Team Plasma vs Team R scenario sort of plays out that Giovanni some how remembered about Mewtwo as well, and re-started the process to have another clone at his command to take on Mewtwo and any rival Team that threaten's his "world domination" attempts.

just thoughts...........

Though it would be extremely unlikely, I think it would be hilarious if this was Team Rocket's second attempt at a Mew clone that they tried for because they forgot it didn't end well for them last time due to the memory wipe.

Mew = 1
Mewtwo = 2

1 + 2 = 3

They're eating her, and now they are going to eat me... OH MY GOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just looked on the official Pokemon site and at the end of this slide, under the new Pokemon in the Pokemon X & Y section of the site, it says a new chapter begins.I think they're referring to Mewtwo. This means that it's almost certain that this is Mewtwo's new forme, not a clone and not a new Pokemon.

And If you guys start reading the things like they are? I´m Portuguese and I read this:

"a Pokémon that is strangely familiar to Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo!"

If is familiar is not Mewtwo, period

"This new Pokémon shares many traits with Mewtwo and it’s suspected that the newly discovered Pokémon has a connection with Mewtwo"

Have a connection so ADN conection not the same Pokémon. Just read the things like they are...

Have you ever noticed that when Pokemon says familiar, it means the new Pokemon IS a new forme, not a clone and anyway, why would Pokemon decide to make a clone of one of the best Pokemon? The new Pokemon and Mewtwo are FAR too similar to be messed up clones of each other. The new Pokemon is pretty much a 100% proved Forme, there's almost absolutely no reason for the Pokemon to be a messed up clone. As for the Mewtwo Movie, if you've seen the Keldeo Movie then you've seen the Genesect movie. It'll go down somewhat similar as to the Keldeo movie. Genesect rushes in and starts devastating the city and just at the last possible moment, Mewtwo shows up. Mewtwo and the Genesect start battling it out and Mewtwo is losing horribly. Just before Genesect kills Mewtwo, Mewtwo transforms into it's new forme then starts battling again with the Genesect. Mewtwo over powers all five Genesect and wins and the Genesect retreat. Mewtwo then tells Ash that he still wants to travel and discover what the meaning of life (or whatever he was looking for at the end of the 1st Pokemon movie) is and tells Ash to take care and Mewtwo leaves. This sounds like a pretty accurate description of what going to be in the movie as it sounds like something Pokemon would put in a movie. Why is almost everyone unhappy if the new Pokemon turns out to be a new Mewtwo Forme (of course it'll be a new new Mewtwo forme) instead of the messed up idea of a clone? In summary, if a new Pokemon looks familiar to an old legendary Pokemon (example, Keldeo), it's ALWAYS a new forme for that legendary Pokemon so if you're one of those fans of the messed up idea of a Mewtwo clone, if you don't change your attitude towards it being a new Mewtwo forme then when they reveal the name, you're going to be very disappointed.

The way they are advertising it, it would seems its a new Pokemon altogether and not a form. "a Pokémon that is strangely familiar to Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo!" This tells me that the Pokemon will be new because they would have said it would be a new form. "This new Pokémon shares many traits with Mewtwo and it’s suspected that the newly discovered Pokémon has a connection with Mewtwo". Note the keywords new and newly discovered. This tells me this Pokemon has its own number in the Pokedex, which makes it a completely new Pokemon.

If the way they advertised the new Pokemon by only saying that it was similar and that's it, I wouldn't be making this argument. Check on the Pokemon X & Y section of the Pokemon site, then go down to the slide underneath the images of the new Pokemon. Here is what each page on the slide says:

1: The Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo
It is suspected that the newly discovered Pokemon has some sort of connection with the Legendary
Mewtwo-a powerful Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue Versions.

2: Discovering Mewtwo
To find this powerful and mysterious Pokemon in Pokemon Red and Blue Versions, you must first enter the Hall of Fame, then travel deep into Cerulean Cave. At the time of it's discovery, Mewtwo reigned as he most powerful Pokemon that could be found!

3: A Pokemon Engineered for Battle
Mewtwo was created by engineering the genes of another powerful Pokemon, the Mythical Mew. The aim was to create a Pokemon that would be mightier in battle than any other Pokemon!

4: The Legend of Mewtwo Endures
As recently as Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, you could capture Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave, just as you could in Pokemon Red and Blue Versions. The power of Mewtwo stands the test of time-it is still considered one of the strongest Pokemon ever discovered!

5: A New Chapter
Now, a newly discovered Pokemon appears in Pokemon X and Y-a Pokemon that bears a curious resemblance to the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo.

I'm arguing that Pokemon is giving us hints that this new Pokemon is Mewtwo's new forme. Here are the clues I've found:
1: It looks like Mewtwo
2: If this was a whole new Pokemon then why would they show the history of Mewtwo?
3: Why would they show the new Pokemon battling Genesect? For fun?
4: On the movie poster why would Mewtwo be missing and the new Pokemon standing behind Ash and the crew? If the new Pokemon is an evil clone like everybody seems to think is, the Pokemon has nothing to do with Ash and his friends.
5: Before they revealed the names of Xerneas, Yveltal and Sylveon, they had the same number of question marks as the letters in they names and now the new Pokemon has 6 question marks instead of 7 meaning it's name has 6 letters in it so names like Mewthree won't fit but the name Mewtwo fits perfectly.

This all looks logical to me that this is proof that the new Pokemon is Mewtwo's new forme. I know people are going to whinge and whine about me being wrong and this information being illogical but before they call me wrong, I would like to see some proof they've found that would promote the idea of a clone instead of a new Mewtwo forme. So if someone wants to prove me wrong, they have to find some proof first. On the 18th, there will be a new Genesect movie trailer, that'll prove if the Pokemon is a clone or a new Mewtwo forme. Before end this comment, I want to ask, why do people want a whole new Pokemon instead of a new forme? I personally love forms if they can be added to Pokemon because then there's so much more variety for that Pokemon, while if the new Pokemon is a whole new Pokemon, then Mewtwo will slowly be forgotten.

And vaporeon, what would be the point in them saying the new Pokemon is similar if it's not a new forme? That's just messed up. Also, remember they said the same things for other Pokemon forms before they revealed them like the new forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.

You're missing the point. A newly discovered Pokemon is just that. A newly discovered Pokemon. A newly discovered Pokemon can't be a form change. They also never advertised Tornadus and crew as "newly discovered Pokemon".

You're looking way into it.

Word play, lol. "New" could mean anything from origin to type, maybe even genetics to gender. One thing that has been kept under wraps is the new Pokemon's type or dual type. Baby Pokemon or evolve "into" has been done, so has forms. There is plenty of roomfor speculations, possibilities, the what not. Either way, "new" is an open ended type of a word to keep people guessing, and so far it is doing a great job keeping us stoked. Enjoy the anticipation with an open mind.

People still haven't answered my question. I asked if anyone could find any proof that might support the idea of a completely new Pokemon or a clone and why no one wants the new Pokemon to be a new forme.

^ As far as finding proof at this time: none yet that I personally can locate. The idea of a new Pokémon could mean:
A: New to the series
B: New as in a new type
C: New form
D: New genetic/material/existence/dimension ect......

Possible theories:
Cloned
Birthed
Altered
combo- breeding
Gender
Cross breeding

It is normal for people to want "new" to be something additional in the manner of expanding on, thus "forms" is not a "new thing" in Pokémon.
